Either the Big-Endians or the Little-Endians have to go.

Also whoever moved stddef.h out of my /usr/include directory without even
leaving a note (something like stddef.h.readme).

    (It's in-- get this-- /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.0.2/include.)

    Start sharpening the knives!

    That's because C sucks.

Tell it to take its lame-ass pointers and go.

Eh, well, one needs at least one of each for a really feisty system.

When a system is set up to accomplish some goal, a
new entity has come into being--the system itself.
No matter what the "goal" of the system, it
immediately begins to exhibit system behavior; that
is, to act according to the general laws that govern
the operation of all systems. Now the system itself
    has to be dealt with.

It was a pretty neat thing back in 1970. Even had support for matrix
and graphic operations just like the original Dartmouth basic.

You can ignore it and talk SCPI over the ethernets from a real computer
with a real OS. Most decent test equipment has services like FTP and
NFS available. Plus also, <puke> you can use <barf> National Instruments
stuff to provide a glitzy interface with knobs and meters without
    having to learn much programming.
