my apartment

Discussion in 'Chatter' started by dave hillstrom, Feb 24, 2008.

  1. well, it took 5 days, but the apartment is now 95% clean and 95%
ordered. first time in like 6 months. its so nice to able to walk
around barefoot. very good for me head. prolly take another several
days for the last bits. just sorta takin it easy now.

its so strange, i crave and need a clean & ordered living space for my
headspace, but im chaotic as hell. quite annoying, that.

and i put up a 175W metal halide lamp up over my computer chair, just
in case this depression is seasonal effective disorder. since i shave
the head, ill get rays their and on the forearms. i wonder if i
should get one of those poker visors to completely shield my eyes,
even though theres no direct line from lamp to face...

Now just put stuff back when you're done using them, and you won't have
to do so much work next time. (That's the kind of crappy advice that
was handed to me as a kid.)

I just keep things in piles. As long as you know what pile to throw
stuff on, you'll know where everything is.

theres a limit to how much one can place in a single pile before it
starts taking over rooms, though. i was well past this limit. well
    past.

Congratulations. Did you do it all at once, or tackle one corner at a time?
I've found that getting started is the hardest part. After that, you're on a
    roll and can keep going.

Wouldn't be surprised. A lot of people have that. I tend to hole up in the
winter and not come out till spring. Sort of like hibernating.

    since i shave

Gawd, you bachelors! Are you the types that will take a worn T-shirt off a
pile and sniff it to see if it's wearable just one more day?

    Ish.
