V for Vendetta. I just like how the Right-wing authoritarian government is so methodically taken apart using its own flaws.

Ok, I'll play :) Atlas Shrugged, how the left wing idealism is so torn apart by reality of business......this is fun

BTW gang......RE: my challange to MR Nation

It was respectfully declined for medical reasons and I accept that. No cowardice or no chickening out.
None of you know of the healthy dialog we share offline and in the shadows of this site, Mr NAtion and I , I feel have a healthy respect for each other and do enjoy friendship off this site,
we fight like cats and dogs and oil and vinager, but WE know that we are cool with each other.

We both understand that in a political forum that you wear your big boy pants and attack as if enemys, just like old Ted Kennedy and Orin Hatch, then go have a drink together and talk fun stuff. Deal with it.

I don't watch that many movies and certainly not to get wound up politically.

    So I can't say I have a favorite movie.

Not necessarily in order but four of my favorites are:

The Stand by Stephen King. I suppose if one wanted to one could argue about it politically and certainly religiously. I choose not to.
It's just a damn good book and they actually did a damn good job on the movie. Took 8 hours to do it but it's a classic.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Another classic and extraordinarily funny.

The Outlaw Jose Wales. A movie I hate to stumble upon late at night because I'll stay up to watch it.

Shawshank Redemption. Another Stephen King thing. The real title is Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

To me a movie is something to get absorbed in and relax.

Clembo....Shawshank is a classic......I dont think there can be any disagreement here. The only tarnish on that movie is Morgan Freeman pulling race card, he hurt his credibility.

I'll list my top movies here, and I own most of them on DVD......

    Godfather saga, have them all
Casino, Goodfellas, anything Dinero and Peschi
Comedy Meet the Fockers and all remakes
    Caddyshack
    All Dirty Harry movies

Actually I prefer Nat Geo, Discovery and History Channel on cable
HBO: The Sopranos, The Wire, Boarsdwalk Empire, Dexter, etc etc

Sports I dont give a flying F about except the Detroit Tigers baseball........
Southpark rules because they shred everything political.....

Perhaps you should have read the story first Jack. Funny as it sounds Red's "color" is never discussed. He's the narrator.

How did Morgan Freeman pull "race card"?

I watch a lot of movies and could never pick a single favorite. Some that come to mind though are...Godfather 1 and Shawshank for sure. Goodfellas also. Saving Private Ryan, most anything that Denzel Washington has done, The Usual Suspects, 12 Monkeys, Pulp Fiction, Fargo.

He did not pull race card in movie at all, but has come out against the tea party saying they are against BO because he is a black man.......
