Sometimes I really resent the establishment Democrats. I'm glad he apologized and I'll still vote for him because at this point I'd vote for a rock over Trump, but my goodness is this the best we can do? It's like they want to lose sometimes. The bar is the lowest it's ever been, just don't say or do offensive things!

Apologies for the trashy youtube channel, but it provides the unedited clip in a succinct fashion.

Not a fan of Biden but what alternative has been offered? We have the system we have. It is what it is.

Here were the alternatives offered. But you're right, it is what it is.

Wholeheartedly agree. It is time we open our system up to support a viable third party candidate.

Very true, it would be hard to be more insulting to African Americans than Trump is. I just wish Biden would stop trying to beat him in that regard!

I am going to do something here that may be out of bounds for a conservative leaning fellow.. I am going to defend Biden’s gaffs. Two things.....

You have to take yourself out of the 21st century mindset for a moment. Biden, like myself didn’t grow up in an era where our words were so closely scrutinized. A time when it was the norm to tell a lady she looked nice. And a time when a racial slur was often accepted in normal discussion. For an eye opening view of the previous centuries daily discussion, watch Gran Torino..... Kike, Wop, Mik, Spook..... These were often almost terms of endearment in daily discussions..... We didn’t have to be so careful in our routine discussions and it’s easy for me anyway to want to tell an employee for example, you sure look nice today as I would have done thirty years ago. I have to catch myself. I am sure that he does too.

Secondly, and this is close to home for me..... While my cognitive skills are sharp as ever, I am fully aware that my thoughts frequently have a difficult time reaching my mouth. In a discussion, I often slip and trip trying to verbalize the words in my head. I won’t take a phone call until I listen to the message and gather my thoughts first. I do that intentionally so I don’t sound like a bumbling idiot to the caller. I don’t like it, but have accepted that this is one of the effects of aging for me. I surmise it is much the same for Joe.

Now, will I vote for Joe? Likely not. But it has nothing at all to do with his verbal gaffs. That is a non-issue. One created by the opposition. Yes, he is aged and yes he struggles with the effects of aging. Father Time treats us all differently. He will continue to stumble with words and he will struggle with short term memory gaffs. But Joe’s mind is still sharp. Believe me, I can feel his pain.

Biden is nothing but an empty-headed Trojan Horse whom the Democrats have put up to win the election. Even when he was in his prime, he wasn’t “presidential timber.” He was “big fish” from a small state which has produced very few true statesmen. Before Biden became vice president, the highest office a Delaware politician had held was secretary of state in the mid-19th century. John M. Clayton held the post from 1849 to 1850 under Zachary Taylor.

One of the reasons why Biden is getting the Democrat presidential nomination is because they could not stomach giving the nomination to Bernie Sanders who won’t join the part. The Democrats also think that they can sell Biden as “a moderate” because he’s been around for so long. In fact, his voting record was among the most liberal in the Senate. At any rate the other Democrats who were on that debate stage were all ultra liberal to socialist. The Democrat establishment didn’t think that any of them were electable.

Biden is nothing but a figure head. He is means to an end. He will either sit in the White House and sign whatever Nancy Pelosi puts under his nose or quickly resign because of his failing intellectual capacity. When you vote for Biden, you will be voting for his vice president and the politicians like Bernie Sanders, AOC and Beto O’Rourke who will head up Biden’s Second Amendment policies. We already know that Beto has made a commitment to come and take our guns. Don’t be surprised in he follows through on that in the Biden administration.

You make some great points, and I do feel for Biden as a person. I'm more frustrated with the DNC than him personally. We had a wide array of candidates young and old, but it really felt like they railroaded him into the position.

I really can't stand the talking point that is often made about Biden that he is some kind of puppet for a radical left takeover (as Trump puts it).

I can't stand it because I wish that were the case! Sadly, he's probably himself far more corporate friendly than the liberal counterparts, and I'm very convinced he was pushed through by establishment Democrats to protect corporate interests while making modest or even superficial changes favored by the progressive left.

As for his voting record, he's known as one of the most conservative voting members of congress for Democrats. When you say he's voted liberally, do you mean when compared to all of congress instead of just his party? I mean, this is the guy that voted against federal enforcement of desegregation with regards to busses, against using Medicaid for abortions, and currently won't support legalization of cannabis or a single payer healthcare system. He REALLY is not a progressive candidate.

Biden is a puppet. He’s like my mother was in early stage dementia. Look at who is his vice presidential running mate. That will tell you more about a Biden administration than anything else. You don’t need to worry about his “corporate connections.” He won’t be around long enough or have enough mental ability to make it policy.

What stage of dementia is Trump at?

Can we all just call a truce on the mental stability arguments? Trump today said:

"The closest thing is in 1917, they say, the great pandemic. It certainly was a terrible thing where they lost anywhere from 50 to 100 million people, probably ended the Second World War, all the soldiers were sick. That was a terrible situation."

There's a ton of wrong stuff to unpack there.

It's just a thing, like @Mopar Dude said, age can have the effect of reducing one's ability to get words smoothly to the mouth when on the spot. It doesn't mean these people can't think issues through clearly when given a few minutes.

It may not be ideal to have an elderly president in every situation, but assaulting Biden's mental faculties feels hollow when Trump is no better.

Okay, let’s fix it. The Spanish Flu epidemic was in 1918, the estimated number deaths was over 50 million and it did have some effect on World War I.

Those mistakes are a bit different from losing you train of thought in the middle of a sentence. Biden is not fit to be president, period.

No Truce? Okay. I suppose this compilation video that cherry picks Trump should be just as valid as the cherry picked clips of Biden.

    Here's a more recent one

Now we could just say they're old and make mistakes, or we could pretend we're doctors able to diagnose mental illness through a TV screen. Something no good doctor would do, by the way.

If you dislike Biden/Harris so much, why don't you talk about their platform or proposed policy changes?
