George Will reveals the disturbing reason why Trump's GOP turned against conservatives

George Will is a man. You people are ...trump's base

George Will lamented that the Republican Party no longer had room for conservatives like himself, and he offered a disturbing explanation for that dynamic.

The Washington Post columnist appeared Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," where he lamented the rightward drift of the party he once called home but no longer feels any affinity toward after Donald Trump took it over.

"Whatever populism is conservatism isn't," Will said. "Populism believes that everything is clear, known to the public and should be directed into the policy and not be refined in the Constitution. That is the antithesis of conservatism."

The veteran columnist explained that Republican elected officials didn't necessarily agree with their party's direction, but they were afraid to push back against their increasingly radicalized right-wing base.

"There is no place for conservatism in the Republican Party right now because we have an absolutely unique situation," Will said. "We have a Republican Party who are -- they won't say this -- are frightened of their voters, and because they're frightened of them, they don't much like them. Because they don't like them, they don't respect them. It's a very tension-ridden relationship between the Republican's elected officials and the Republican base. Until the Republican Party gets back to something like the principles that made it a vibrant force in the '80s and '90s, conservatives are, as I say, orphans."

Archie had a name for Will. Meathead.

Personally, I think he is JoeNation, AKA Little Joe.

    Go to bed, now, child.

Truth in editing (the opposite of posts by Little Joe and Child FD) I dropped a "t", to avoid making both of them more confused than their usual state of comprehension.

He was not even worthy of being known as a RINO. He was and is a phony. The guy is and was a very irritating person, not only on air, but in real life. He would talk with, and use his hands and facial movements to emphasize, the air of the superior intelligent club, tilting his chin up, and a sniff or 2 when he was talking, and a slight deft touch of his glasses, as he gently pulled them down to stare over the top of the rim, and then the obligatory old British school chap tug of the tie, while annunciating pronouns an octave higher, to indicate disdain. Jesus! You had to go and remind me. He was and is an Asshole. I RARELY use that description.

Yes. I do personally know. There is that.

Truth in Edit: added a "w" to change the word from "hen" to "when", because otherwise the level of confusion it would have caused Little Joe would have sent him to the ER.

You had one for 8 years, if you don’t recall, the majority of the “racist Americans “ elected Obama. Now, the overwhelming majority of imbeciles voted in a senile fool that has endorsed, sponsored and voted for racist legislation (just ask his VP) and is a creep, Congrats.

The far Right has no ability to see how far gone they are. George Will might as well be talking about a bunch of brain-dead morons in a coma...Oh wait, he is. Cult members one and all.

Little joe, Little Joe. This is exactly why he is treated around town as a Pariah, because he thinks of People in a like manner.

He is unwanted, and is shunned and ignored, and is tolerated for the levity he provides. The broom in his ass is a telephone pole.
    I know.

When did the Right become the Far Right?

Laugh-out-loud! All I have heard for years is "Far Left" "Far Left" "Far Left" "Far Left". The Right is so extreme these days that they have actually attempted a coup. How much further Right is there to go anyway? You guys are about as extreme fringe as it gets. Conspiracy theories, QAnon, Trump, cult-like devotion to one man, one news source,... The Far Right goes without saying. You're so far Right that traditional Conservatives don't even recognize their own party anymore. You guys are so out there, you can't even see the center from there.

Everything is shifting to the Left...that's how we became the "Far Right". That's why we need the term "Far Left"...they (you) are way farther Left that Left used to be. The Right hasn't changed...except the way the Left brands us.

"Far Joey."...that should be a moniker that will stick.

Moniker means nickname. However, for you, it is proper name.
