Why Don’t The Numbers Matter?

Almost seven out of ten Americans define themselves as Christian. A full 95% of Americans define themselves as believing in a higher power…… And a mere five percent of Americans define themselves as agnostic or having no beliefs in any higher power.

So why are the 5% the most vocal and demanding group? And why are we constantly under pressure to be polite and have to hide our love of God? I was gassing up today. I have a very small sticker in the corner of my back window with my churches name on it. This sticker is smaller than a cell phone. And I had a kid pull up behind me to gas up and lodged a complaint with me that my sticker was offensive to him. I smiled and said “God bless you” and went on about my business. Nothing else was said, and I was left thinking the kid had maybe missed the lesson in manners that his mother gave him but this isn’t the first time I have experienced something like this. I once had the paint on my show car scratched off because a small church sticker was displayed on the trunk lid.

If I were hosting a party and 95% of those in attendance were teetotalers, I wouldn’t serve alcohol. It’s just common courtesy.

So if 5% of you are so enlightened that your intellect is vastly superior to the other 95% of us, then perhaps you could employ a small bit of that intellect towards being polite to the other 95% of us. After all, you are vastly outnumbered here.

I think of the U.S. Constitution as the Public policy instantiation of the Christian ethos. The U.S. Constitution is antithetical to Marxism. Therefore, Marxists present history through a 21st century lens...to make both the Constitution and Christianity appear "morally repugnant". Marxists use this sense of Moral Authority to justify their use of government coercion to affect social and economic change via extra-Constitutional means.

Marxists have taken social bullying to a whole new level when they label Veterans and Parents as "domestic terrorists". I'm sooooo glad Merrick Garland never made it to the Supreme Court! Perhaps that's why they're giving Justice Breyer the "bum's rush" prior to the mid-terms.

Well worded @yakpoo . . . JN & FD will come up with feeble arguments to the contrary, but they'll hold no water at all.

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt early on. Once it became obvious they weren't listening, I threw back the curtain, they screeched like little schoolgirls, and ran away. ;)

I was wondering what happened to them. Thinking these all encompassing shortages had affected their world in some way and the the golden towers surrounding Utopia may have begun to crumble.

I called them out on Race Shaming and MMT...and they had nothing. JN pokes his head up once in a while, but he doesn't stay long. ;)

Unfortunately a small vocal (and often quite dedicated) group gets their way. Look at most hot topics: for example, all the trans talk when less than 1% of the adults in the US identify as trans. Looks at history: the Bolsheviks gained control in Russia although they were the smaller party.

In recent times people are too afraid of being labeled (racist, bigot, supremacist, etc). It starts with a seemingly minor concession to the small vocal group but it does not stop there. That only emboldens that small group and they continue to push to extreme ends.

To answer the question: why don't the numbers matter? Because the larger group does not take advantage of being in the majority. They don't want to engage and allow the small group to effectively gain control.

That many? I've seen maybe three (3) my entire life.

To add to that . . . the Democratic Party uses the politics of division to bind all of those small groups into a single effort to subvert the desires of the majority.

I was thinking of transgender as folks in the process of (or after) a sex change. Your link says...

"Transgender is a term used to describe people whose gender or sense of personal identity does not match the sex they were born with."

That sounds more like the super-set of all non-straight people...so 0.58% seems about right.

Something I just can’t grasp, and maybe someone here can enlighten me, is the left constantly lectures us about science. “ Follow the science, you’re a science denier, and you are all flat earth knuckle draggers”. Science doesn’t apply to the GLBT.... community but it does apply if someone self-identifies as a back or when Alec Baldwin’s wife identifies as Hispanic. In the later instances it’s considered cultural appropriation. Yet culture appropriation doesn’t apply to politicians like Elizabeth Warren, Go figure. Somebody please enlighten me about science.

I'll gladly enlighten you about science, but please be patient . . . I don't have an unsupportable argument right at this moment :D.

It's all part of the double standard. The contradictions are there and they embrace it.

    Robert Ransom Cautiously optomistic.

Science is a transitory word used to modify an idea, on a periodic basis, that which was once thought to be the answer to a question.
