My favorite design....they should have kept it, the Coronet design sucked. 9a38206f2c02d91b211380f301049d68.jpg

That there's a mighty expensive coin! I'm afraid I'd hafta sell the house & everything in it to buy that one.

Its getting tougher these days to find bargains. Its still possible if you collect mostly world/ non US AV coins. RRRR coins with less then 3 known are possible in rare cases for under 10 grand. But again, some sell for absurd amts, with many known. The 1839 "Una & the Lion" AV 5 Sovereigns (50+ known) one sold MDC/ Monaco auction 1M EUROS, recently prices dropped a tad.
This Regensburg ND 1792 Dukat sold Heritage slabbed MS-63 $24KUS
    I got this in 2015 for 1900E
But, this 1633 K-B Hungary Dukat FDC sold Warsaw auction 2016 in Zloty= $4100US (I won it) Then in 2023 Bratislava Auction a MS ex. not as good as mine, hammered for 26K euros. We would be flabberghasted what our collections are worth in 2026 Dollars, then we could buy a Beverley Hills mansion like Buddy Ebsen/ hillbillies. 7e3054cdae42b5492bd9ef69ad38b093 (2).jpg ca88fcffa72454768e7b5468ea576d72 (2).jpg 9abd7c4941789df2c02b4a9a4f13febb.jpg

Did you know Buddy Ebsen was a prominent US coin collector?

I knew that. I am not one that cares about a coins provenance but I would pay a premium to own a Jed Clampett coin.

Yeah, Buddy Ebsen even had a couple of Stellas ( $4) gold pieces. These were minted in 1879 and given to members of Congress. These idiots spent them on hookers:rolleyes:`
I would have put them into my collection.

Me, I am still same guy that I was when I was 18.

I love classic corvettes, hot younger women, but not at the expense of a beautifull gold coin. The classic 67 vette or a FDC Roman aureus keep their beauty forever, kinda like immortality:)
