Now that the Giants are dumped out on thier inglorious backsides whats the thoughts on who progresses ?

A lot of talk of an all Pa superbowl , ive been watching those Eagles and i cant think who can stop them although i do know they are famous for bottling it when it comes to the crunch.

So as much as i doubt my forecast im going to stick with Phillie.

The winner should have to then slaughter those 0-16 Detroit Lions.

You know Scottishmoney , last year the Miami Dolphins were diabolical and came back to a respectable season. The start of this season the eagles were woeful, its a harder game to forecast than real football.Ive warmed to it,im afraid i chose the 49'rs as my team to follow :( that was long ago when superbowl partys were the in thing at the pub, cant change my colours now.

I still think they should have just let the Lions keep playing teams until they won a game. I wouldn;t mind having football well into the summer. lol

Why exactly do they play the season in winter ? Its the same in the UK , fans get soaked and frozen every game just about , the players cant enjoy it.
Does it make too much sense to start the season in spring ?

I am sure some of our local High school teams had a sure shot of creaming the Lions.

    Probably so. lol

That is another option, they could have sent them around to play all the college teams and , if they didn't win one, start in on the high schooloers. :)

Football in the dead heat of summer is even more miserable. Couple that with the fact that so many northern teams now play in domes.
The REAL teams still play outdoors though.

I remember 2 a days in high school in the summer. Back in the days when getting a drink of water was a privilege. Playing football in the cold was much more fun than in the heat. And we didn't even have those jet engines on the sidelines to keep us warm. lol

Guess i had British football in mind , America is such a large country and its amazing how well the leagues and games are played without hitches.
British football they'll often call a game off due to weather at the last minute , so fans travelling are out the money for travel and expenses , time off work ..etc

You would think the Brits are a bunch of wimps, but there are NO fans like British football fans, do they go for the game - or to kill each other in the stands?:D

Theyve done a pretty good job of keeping the violence out of the stadium over the last years , you can still get killed in the street outside for wearing the wrong colours..just takes one whack job and theres plenty of them.

Soccer hooligans we call them. And no doubt they are tough. I was in Ireland once when they had an Irish football championship. Those guys were rowdy but not violent. and they were drunk. Surprise! As far as american football. Way better in the fall and winter. I havent played since I was 30. But the crispness of the air make the game more fun.

Pretty decent game , Cardinals have thrown away a huge lead.Eagles lead by 1 :D

Strange game , Eagles looked like getting it back and the Cards got a 2nd wind.Impressive stuff but the flaws are there to be exploited at the SB.

Oh the memories...the coaches would fill a huge galvenizied "trough" with bags of ice in the morning- no drinking water until the ice melted then it was a free for all. Do you think they would allow that to happen these days??

These days someone would probably "make water" in the trough, which is why it cannot happen.

The Cardinals in the Super Bowl. Maybe the world really is coming to an end. ;)

Maybe for some fun they could publicly humiliate the Detroit Losers at half time. Change their name to wienies or something.

Normal service will resume when Pittsburgh get a hold of them. The Eagles are famous for bottling it , no real surprise.
