Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps was Photographed taking a marijuana hit off a bong by a Britsh tabloid. Now the eight olympic gold winner is apologizing. I know there are some anti drug folks out there; is saying youre sorry enough?

 

I would hesitate to say that he actually took a hit of marijuana , the media were very careful to sidestep that fact.
He was holding a bong demonstrating its proper use , yes , big deal.Having seen the picture in question , wheres the smoke ? The clear pyrex bong is crystal clear , there was nothing it in it.

A country ready to trash its own hero for a silly joke , he's not allowed to have a good time or a laugh , pity they dont publicise the scumbag who would betray a friends trust by selling such a photo.

 

He has already owned up to it, and admited " youthful indiscretions ", but I did not hear if he inhaled or not ( lol, Clinton jab ). No biggie for me, I could care less.

He should be worried about those Gazillion dollar endorsment deals tho, that could hurt.

Besides, our current POTUS has admitted to worse, and that does not bother me either

 

If thats true , i havnt seen any admittance of marijuana use , but if its true its one in the eye for the anti drug lobby.
Id imagine he already tied up some lucrative contracts so wont be short of a few bucks.
It will be interesting to see what America allows the media to do to the Golden boy if anything.

I really don't care if he is hitting a bong as long as he isn't endangering anyone else (like with his DUI a few years back). He can sit around and smoke crack with Amy Winehouse and I wouldn't care.

But, how anyone with that much endorsement money riding on his clean cut image lets himself get into a situation where he is photographed doing it is beyond me.

I suspect this will cost him in the wallet quite a bit.

Haha. What do you have a poster of this guy on your wall? He took the hit. Let it sink in. What ticks me off is that he pussyed out and apologized. As some of you stated, he's a grown man. Now let me ask; what if it was Snoop Dog in the photo?

 

Problem is, I don't think Zig Zag papers will pay him as well as Wheaties, and Rosetta Stone did. Yeah, and Amy Whinehorse is available again, her husband filed for divorce. So maybe Mikey has his chance with a real druggie.

 

He doesn't try to hide it so I imagine he isn't going to apologize for it either. And therefor no one really cares.

And really the only reason Phelps apologized was almost certainly because the incident goes against the image he (and his marketing team) has cashed in on. Otherwise, no one would care and probably he wouldn't either.

Well apparently now the sheriff of the county where Phelps was wants to press charges.

 

Frankly, doesn't the sheriff there have bigger fish to fry? Phelps can pretty much write off being an endorser for products anymore, that is far costlier than a night in the pokey.

His little bong hit cost him millions of dollars.

Actually, I think the sheriff wanted to get some press, much like our own Joe Arpiao out here. Great sheriff, but a presshound for sure. Never met a camera he did not like.

 

As well as being a complete waste of time, that would have to be a tough case to prove from a photo. And Phelps never actually admitted to smoking dope. He did have lawyers to go over his apology, I would imagine, and I am sure it was worded as it was for a reason.

 

I doubt he could ever be prosecuted on such flimsy evidence, but he has already suffered more damage than a prosecution could have ever effected.

 

He is now suspended for 3 months and lost his Kelloggs deal.

 

So no Cornflakes for him next time he gets the munchies
