IS this a sin?

Killing a woman's egg or the man's sperm.... is this a sin in your eyes. Why or why not? I do not feel that it is because if they have not come together yet to form a child then you are not killing the child. But I know that many feel that one should not use anything to kill either one of them so they have many many children. What is your take on it?

The far right would say it's a sin (one that applies only to the "non wealthy" however, and the wealthy would be exempt from such nonsense).
The far left would say it isn't a sin regardless.
I don't know for sure would be my answer.

Until a man's sperm and a women's egg have combined, there is no child.

    It is not a sin.

I agree with you tmoneyeagles. But I have a friend that argues with me and says no you should not kill them.

I don't believe that a sex cell with only half the chromosomes to make a human is indeed a human. It has to combine with the other half.

I think we first need to point out that in this discussion, we are assuming that "sin" is something that exists, something that has been tried and proven, which it has not. So my answer is based purely on a hypothetical assumption that sin even exists.

And if my answer still holds any weight, then I would say that no, that would not be a sin. As Travis posted earlier, there is no life form formed until the egg and sperm come together.

Same argument can be made for stem cell research (another infamous right wing error in logic).

Of course not. If those type of people want to have a lot of babies then that is their right but do not even begin to expect me to support them.

Good point, neverlost. I do not think we should have to support other people's children just because of their beliefs!

If you want to take it to it's ultimate conclussion then Mastrubation by a male should be classed as murder

Sin, schmin. The only sin is not extracting the most profit humanly or inhumanely possible. It IS all about the cash. Everything. Follow the money to find the source of all evil.

Absolutely. Watched them spew the same nonsense repeatedly over and over, like a broken record, for decades now. No different now than it has been since at least, the beginning of the eighties. Only difference now is society is on the brink of collapse, most recently highlighted by their "best available successful presidential representative" George Bush (fully supported by the right), so yeah, I do know all about being republican.

So would you just let them die? You would not help a child in need? If so, wouldnt the child be better off not being born?
