If you can not afford to have children, should you?

If you can not afford to have children should you anyway? I know that many people say if you wait until you can afford them you will never have them. But there are too many people out there that are having them and we end up supporting them and then they have more and more. I do not think that this is right. I can not afford to have children right now and so I choose not to. Maybe someday I will be able to afford it, but my soon to be step daughter costs us to much in support each month.

Very hard question Angie, is money the only answer or does love come into it? I realy dont know.

For me it is only money. I am not having kids now because the money is just not there. I would love to have a child. I love my future step child and am glad that I have her. But I do not want to lose my house, and not be able to enjoy life if I have to think about money all the time.

Turn it about a bit, lets say a person in a secure job and family has a kid then becomes redundent looses the home etc what should they then do with the child?

Well if I was in that case, I guess you get through it. My sister says that they were very poor when they had my niece but made it through. I just do not like to rely on others and do not want to be on welfare. I know that is why those programs are out there, but I am too proud I guess.
