Do you believe that sex offenders should be castrated? Why or why not?

Sex offenders defines a wide range of crimes. Urinating in the woods is considered a sex offense. Should someone be castrated just for that? Having sex in a car(perhaps a married couple just getting a cheap thrill) is a sex offnse. Castration seems a bit harsh just for that, no? And what of female? What would equal castration for a fermale sex offender. And rape or molestation isnt about sexual releaseanyway. So castration wouldnt stop one from commiting such acts. What do you think?

I think we could reserve it for felony offenders if I wasn't joking, which I was. Remember the whip reference from the other thread?

I guess I never looked at it like that. I was just thinking along the lines of rape.

Consider the damage doing such a thing would inflict on your own soul. Do you really want to be the sort of creature that castrates people, no matter how dire their crime? Where would that road lead you? Do you consider this a good thing? It's not good to fight criminals by becoming one yourself.

The crime should fit the punishment but the way I see things happening everywhere around the world on this issue then, yes, I do believe that castration is the answer and then put them in a cell block with another perpetrator that can return the favor for all the innocence that person took away.
