Well I am going to say being a preschool teacher. I may be tooting my own horn but I know I do a great job at it. I like my job and it really is a lot of fun.
I guess ...finding family members and organizing reunions? ...and angering my older sister for daring to organize reunions (she considers it her job)? ...(laughs)
I've got this dad thing down. I didn't have much of a dad and I was determined to do a better job than he. No parent is perfect but I honestly have few regrets as a dad.
Actually answering a question in a light hearted thread could be one of mine I suppose but instead I'll give a real answer. I'm VERY good at making people laugh. I figure there may be an idiot or two that will attack me on this via politics but that would only prove their strong point of being an idiot on a light hearted thread. I WILL toot my own horn on this one. I can be a VERY funny guy. Ask my wife, ask my friends. ask anyone that has worked with me. I"ve had many people tell me I should be doing stand up comedy over the years. Only problem is my humor is spontaneous. I hear something, quickly analyze it and out comes the joke.
Make that three... I can always find the funny in things, and I'm not afraid to be silly... and I keep my family well entertained... probably why they've tolerated me for so many years, and haven't left me lol People who have a limited sense of humor usually find me annoying or too odd for them... but they're usually old, ugly, and smelly so who cares? (laughs) Good to see others here who appreciated a good sense of humor...
Heck, give it a shot! What do you have to lose? Just wing it...take a couple of friends for inspiration. You probably have open mike or amatuer hours right there where you are.
If it is like me, it is probably a lot of a playing off of others and situations at hand as well as a healthy dose of self deprecating humor. That is tough to translate into stand up type humor. Although, again, if he is like me, he could probably deal with hecklers pretty well. lol
I am still searching to find my niche. I have been good at many things (pool, poker, hotelier), but great at none.
I got good at guitar and could shred with anybody. I have played with Nugent and Malmsteen. Unfortunatly, the musicians life is both a blessing and a curse. thank god I survived the 80's and 90's. Here is a pic of me and Yngwie Malmsteen on a tour bus around 1995 or so. Next is a gift to me from Nugent, autographed and all. Clembo has seen it in person.
Correct on Malmsteen, but, this was the mid 90's, when he was huge. To play with him was quite the honor. Ted? Still relevant as ever, just not playing arenas. I like his political views, and yes, he is completly nuts.
