This is apparently not a group that is much into discussing religion. No problem with that, it just seems kind of unusual.

It appears that for some their political party is their religion. Used be a person from new zealand that loved the british monarchy and posted the most anti-catholic posts that I have ever come across outside of a mosque. Very outspoken. Think he was either banned or who knows perhaps became a priest and took an oath of silence. In anycase it is a shame that you missed out on it. Rather entertaining in the crudest sense if one realized he was harmless and just venting.

If you post a topic you might get a few replies.

Aidan got banned Andy. More than once if I'm not mistaken. He's also been banned from more sites than anyone I've ever known for his "venting". Real shame too as he's VERY knowledgable on coins and paper money.

While we're at it let's not forget Midas (also banned). His hatred of anything Muslim is legendary. Truly a lunatic IMHO.

I miss Drusus from those days. Married to a Muslim. Always had well thought out posts that I'm sure drove Midas crazy (not like that would be too hard). He just doesn't post anymore.

    Ahhh.... those were the days.

I was going to post almost the exact same thing in regards to Aiden and Midas. Drusus had slipped my mind but I agree with that too. lol

I think I might have caught the tail end of Aiden. Kind of down on the RCs, that's for sure. I didn't know about his monarchist tendencies. Somewhat ironic really in view of the fact that the Queen has a Catholic chapel hidden away in the basement of Balmoral and those Scottish pipers are really priests in disguise. She actually hates the Highlands but it's the only place where she can hear a mass and take a proper communion without the general public finding out. I wonder if Aiden knows that. I've forgotten where I heard it. Lyndon LaRouche maybe.

Dag, Midas got banned. Liked the guy. We actually saw alot of the same of what is going on but I think the difference might have been that I saw muslims being the biggest victims of islam, especially free thinkers and women. If I remember correctly Drusus wife belong to a subsect of islam which was treated badly by the mainstream of that area. Nice guy who loved his wife. Adian I think had his own paper and coin website or at least was moderator. Used to visit it. Wonder if he got banned or banned himself there. I have no religon myself so I guess most people think I'm damned but that has to be better then getting banned from a website forum. Thanks for the update, miss old dan and danr the most from this site. And the national dealer, trader nick and a crazed englishman, got banned, who liked to hunt for roman coins with a metal detector from the other.

I'd have to say the differences between you and Midas were HUGE Andy. ALL Muslims bad! Period!!!

Yes, it did seem that Drusus was in an area where it was certainly NOT accepted bo be married to a Muslim and I always thought he was a nice guy. Looked forward to his posts actually.

You have no religion? You heathen! LOL. Can't say I really do either.
I have no problem with that. Do unto others has been my motto in the religious aspect for years. Seems a lot of religious zealots can't understand that.

Lookee Takiji! We're talking religion - sort of.

We are, aren't we. :) Problem is that apparently all the fanatics are gone. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but what fun is a religion forum without them? The only thing left is late night dorm room discussions of what it all means and I find that mostly horribly boring.

The interesting thing about Aiden was that he was so open and honest about his hate. I am not sure if I should repeat what he posted even if his posting made it public record but basically we knew why he hated homosexuals, we knew why he hated catholics and if one did not take his attacks personal one may have seen that he might have been denying who he was. It was deep stuff on one end and off the topic insaneness on the other. But then again the human race has a history of killing each other over words in a book that some guy wrote which was different then what the other guy's book says. One thing, we should be glad that Aiden was born and lives in the western hemisphere scope of thinking today and not the middle east and we should be glad he wasn't in europe during
"The Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) was fought primarily in what is now Germany, and at various points involved most countries in Europe. It was one of the most destructive conflicts in European history.
The origins of the conflict and goals of the participants were complex, and no single cause can accurately be described as the main reason for the fighting. Initially, the war was fought largely as a religious conflict between Protestants and Catholics in the Holy Roman Empire" -cut and paste.

In many respects it seems like Islam now is rather like Christianity was several centuries ago. They are siblings after all, and seem to me to have similar personalities. As for Aiden, I think we would have had an interesting relationship. I've interacted with some pretty nasty people who have sometimes turned out to be surprisingly civil and interesting if you don't respond to them in kind, something which is admittedly often hard for me to do. Seems like they expect to be attacked back and are kind of taken aback if that doesn't happen. Of course not all of them are like that. Some are just 100% 24k jerks. At any rate, to quote a line from Queer as Folk, I'd rather be despised to my face than despised behind my back.
