This guy shouldn't be on death row, he should be given a medal

Pennsylvania has gotten it wrong this time. Very, very wrong. Yes, this guy killed someone, but he should be given a medal for it, not the death penalty. I'm not opposed to the death penalty, to put it mildly, and in fact I'd say the "victim" in this case is the one who truly deserved to die.

Seems that when this man was a child, he was molested for a period of several years starting from around the age of ten or eleven. When he was a teenager, he finally cracked and killed the molester. Now, if there is such a thing that is what I would call a justified killing. A kid striking back and killing his molester, very clear cut case of self-defense in my opinion. But, not for the wingbats in Pennsylvania, they gave him the death penalty.

To make it worse, it seems that the prosecution denied the defense the right to present evidence at the trial about the molestation. I don't see how anyone could even begin to consider that this evidence wouldn't be relevant to the case. AFAIK, in a murder trial you have to show evidence of motive, and what's the motive in this case? Obviously, the kid was killing his molester, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

I'm against the Death Penalty, regardless.

I take it his defense has put in a appeal?

Abuse, albeit heinous, does not equate with murder. The kid is clearly damaged but murder takes his damage to a whole new level.
