Bernie Sanders on Immigration. It’s a shocker.

Bernie Sanders laid out his position on immigration a couple days ago. It is radical to say to the least. Here are the high lights concerning what our immigration will be under a Sanders presidency.

• The borders will be completely open. Anyone from anywhere in the world will be able to come into The United States.

• Anyone from anywhere in the world who immigrates to The United States will be eligible for welfare benefits. Since Sanders, as well as the rest of the Democratic presidential candidates, have pledged that they will give immigrants free health care, it must be assumed that they will eligible for that as well.

• All ICE immigration enforcement of the existing laws will be ended. Mr. Sanders did not specify if this applied to immigrant criminals.

So, there you have it. The world will be entitled to come here and get all of the benefits offered to United States citizens and perhaps more. Does anyone doubt that this will bankrupt the country? There will be no limits. We will accept and care for the world.

Democrats say we are nuts when we talk about turning The United States into an economic basket case like Venezuela. With a give everything to everybody socialist system like this, it will come faster than you might think.

 

You are quite correct. Sanders has his fortune. I am attuned to the left’s judgmental views as long as it doesn’t affect their ivory towers. I used to laugh when Al Gore would lecture us on greenhouse gasses as he was boarding his private jet.... You can bet our borders will be meaningless. We will get the bad as well as the good. And yes, it will be a further financial drain that will affect us and not them.

Why don’t you read anything but the lying New York Times, Joe? Between the lines is this message: entering the country illegally becomes a civil, not a criminal matter. In other words, the statutes don’t count. Only the opinions a liberal judge count. Anyone who crosses the border, will stay here, and they will get a quick path to citizenship. Cross the border; become a citizen; get welfare benefits. And most important, VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS, which the reason for this whole illegal immigration mess.

Examples of misdemeanors include: petty theft, prostitution, public intoxication, simple assault, disorderly conduct, trespass, vandalism, reckless driving, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of cannabis and in some jurisdictions first-time possession of certain other drugs, and other similar crimes.

 

Joe, we all know you want the illegals in here to vote Democrat because your party is losing support among working people who are tired of getting ripped off by Washington. Your open border politics are one of the best reasons not to vote Democrat. You wouldn’t even support the removal of aliens who are violent criminals. Given that position, there is no room for compromise because you want them in here, including terrorists and MS-13 gang members.

Bernie and his cohorts all have armed security to protect them. The average American is not so lucky.

The Democrats know why they want open borders. It’s to stuff the ballot boxes. It’s totally locked up California for your side forever. Some Democrats don’t even make a pretense of what they are up to. They have given illegal aliens the vote on local elections and want to do the same in national elections.

It’s one of the reasons why the Democrats fight tooth and nail against voter ID laws. You can’t rent a car, a hotel room, open a bank account or get government services without an ID, yet you should be allowed to vote without one. The reason why you need to identify yourself for government services is to combat fraud. Combatting voter fraud is not a priority for Democrats. In fact, voter fraud is one of the core elements of their election strategy.

 

To those who support the draconian policies Stephen Miller and Trump have instituted, Sanders's immigration proposals are bad enough. Promoting mendacious distortions is a poor way to have a realistic discussion of them.

When I hear someone actually say that they support open borders rather than someone else just saying that they support open borders, I will be the first to question such policies. Fortunately, open borders is just a Frank Luntz poll tested phase that plays well among the rube class.

 

Yea, Joe, you will tell lies until you side gets in power, and then the border will be wide open until the crime situation becomes untenable. Then the Democrats will react.

When you read the language, you see that Sanders and probably Warren will open the borders their first day in office. They have bought into Castro’s position.

 

Does “for All” include drug cartels, human traffickers, violent felons and MS-13 members? Do you have any respect for the decent, law abiding U.S. citizens who don’t want to become victims of criminals?

Does the opioid crisis bother you at all? Did the murder of woman children in northern Mexico last week bother you? Do you want those kinds of people here? You can get on your liberal high horse about my use of the phrase, “those kinds of people; I don’t care. People who shoot children in the back are beyond reprehensible.

How about the communities who are struggling to fund decent schools who get slammed with a crush of illegal aliens. Believe it or not, you will get blow-back from Hispanic-Americans on that one. When you have spent money and played by the rules to come here, you don’t take kindly to those who openly by-pass the line, break the law and slam you community services.

I had go to an unaccredited high school because the community in which I grew up was poor and could not foot the bill for a better education system. That was not cool.

If Sanders’ proposals are “bad enough,” what do you want? I guess you don’t want any borders at all. If that’s true, you expect more from the citizens of the United States than any other country in the world. If that’s you position, I will oppose you proudly.

It's interesting to note that you don't think that open borders pose any national security risk. That will be your policy until the Democrat Party changes it. Then you will be on-board with enforcing at least part of law, like Obama and the many Democrats were before Trump took office.

My granddaughter was accosted leaving her work one evening by a group of illegal immigrant gang animals. That was three years ago. The trauma of the ordeal has caused her young marriage to dissolve. She was once a lovely, vibrant young lady. She now finds it hard to get out of the bed each day just to tend her kids. These are the dregs that open borders invite. Oh sure, there will be honest folks looking to earn their slice of the American dream. But by and large, these animals are what will be crossing to patrol our streets each night.

 

I'll repeat, but I don't know how to make it any plainer to you. Those who agree with what Miller and Trump have done will think that what Sanders proposes is bad. You'll note that I didn't express an opinion on his proposals one way or another. What I did is provide a link to the actual proposals, which anybody who cares to can read.

Those who bother to read will not find anything about "completely open borders." Yes, Sanders proposes breaking up ICE and CBP (both of which have proven to be abusive) and placing the enforcement of laws back with the Department of Justice, the Treasury Department, and the State Department. There is much more available at the link I provided. You may disagree with some or all of the proposals and I welcome a discussion of the issues. Posting false accusations may provide you with some gratification, but from here it looks like posturing and bluster, lacking in substance.
