So what's the game plan here?

I've noticed he's making appeals to these all but impossible to win states lately, even going to California for rallys.

Why bother making these appeals? Why spend time and resources rallying there? Why didn't he "turn them around" already if he can do it so quickly? So many questions.

My theory is he's upset Republican strongholds like Texas and Georgia are looking like toss ups and appealing to these blue states are Hail Mary plays.

    Any other thoughts?

He is egocentric enough to believe that he can flip a blue state to a red state. Probably because he hears so much talk about flipping red states blue this election. If he wants to waste value campaign funds on this kind of strategy, so be it.

There are Republican held Congressional seats in California. Perhaps Trump is trying to help them along with picking up some contributions. The California trip was unusual. Trump is still spending most of his time in the competitive states.

Meanwhile Joe Biden is sitting in his basement. I have long viewed that how a candidate conducted his campaign as an indicator of how he or she would perform in office. Biden is more lethargic than any presidential challenger I can name, including the 19th century candidates when openly running for president was viewed as “unseemly.”

Some presidents have refused to campaign because they “were too busy doing the people’s business.” Richard Nixon only made a couple of appearances in 1972, but he was way ahead.

As much as I hated to admit it at the time, George McGovern ran a lousy campaign in 1972. It was an indication of the type of President he would have been. Ditto for Michael Dukakis in 1988. He was a below average governor and would have been a lousy President, especially in a time of crisis.

Soon after Dukakis lost in 1988, he came home a fiscal crisis in Massachusetts. Like Biden, he went into his bunker and was nowhere to be seen. Even the Democrats in the legislature complained about his total lack of leadership.

So I buy the argument of helping downballot races, but criticizing Biden for not holding rallies in a pandemic due to "lethargy" is laughable.

I take it as, Biden is going to perform responsibly in office and not sacrifice the safety of his constituents for potential political gain.

Biden is too old and tired to be President. That is a simple fact. Some people age better than others. Biden has not aged well.

Add to that the fact that there wasn’t much there when he was younger. He’s been running for President since 1988 and never came close until now when the party leadership picked him to keep Sanders from getting the nomination.

You're right about these states being all but impossible to win for Trump.

Not long after the mass exodus of the payers of the most taxes in those states, they will become all but impossible for Democrats to retain.

Unfortunately the education system in this country has programmed a lot of fools who think that government has all of the solutions to every problem. Mr. @FryDaddyJr is one them

The sad part is they are moving out of these high tax states and taking their demented politics with them. That's why the Democrats think they are going to take Texas this time. The people were almost dumb enough to vote Beto O'Roake into the Senate.

In the old days the Democrats would not have gotten to first base in a Texas election with a fool like him as their candidate. One ride on his skateboard, and he would have headed for La-La Land where he belongs.

So after paying into Social Security and Medicare for 45+ years, I am a "hypocrite" for collecting benefits from the system. I could say some insulting things to you, but your statement speaks for itself. You hate older people, and you resent the fact that some of them are better off than you.

Yes, that remark is a clear indication of how shallow you are.

When you get to retirement age, are you going to refuse Social Security payments and Medicare?

No, of course not, I'm for some degree of socialism.

Of course you are . . . so, even though we don't believe in or support Social Security, don't ask us if we're going to refuse (partial) repayment of money borrowed from us. The system sucks, but it still owes us.

There is nothing worse than supporting a bad system, because there is no incentive to improve it if it is supported as-is.
