I believe that you see yourself in the best possible light. Who doesn't? We all are guilty of believing in our own superiority and you are no different. I think that you try to do the right thing and more often than not, you do exactly that. It isn't your gentle nature that I have been critical of nor do I wish to bring this conversation down to any single individual. No one person embodies the ills of this country. And no one person can be defined by any one thing that they do. People are just more complicated than that.

What was it that K said in Men in Black? A person is smart, people are stupid. When we act as a mob, the worst inclinations tend to surface from that mob. A person can weigh their own actions and decide between right and wrong. A mob doesn't have that luxury. A mob feeds on the lowest common denominator. If you've ever seen that study that proves that if one guy in a large crowd stands up and starts dancing to the music at some large musical event, the crowd doesn't follow immediately. They wait for the second guy to stand up and start dancing before they give themselves permission to put themselves on the line. It's always the second guy that starts things off. That is simply human nature. As individuals we are less than we want to be but as part of a mob, we are more than we want to be.

Now you might have noticed that I didn't call you a money hungry conservative but that is the stereotype. I'm not sure how much of a stereotype it really is as many stereotypes are rooted in at least some truth. I am astounded how often these conversations come down to simply money. I mean money certainly is a consideration but it is also further down the line of consideration for many of us unless you happen to be a conservative. I've just never related to that type of priority. And I may have been somewhat "judgy" about it because it is so low on my priorities list but it just keeps surfacing here and makes it hard for me to ignore.

I don't want to hear about anyone's livelihoods. That's their business as far as I am concerned. I don't need to hear about their finances and they don't need to hear about mine. Your income is as irrelevant to me as I hope mine is to you. That is all I am saying.

Fine, let's talk starvation. What happens when bubba gets tired of being called a MAGA Nazi and decides not to deliver to your grocery store anymore, or sell their farm goods to cities. And there's mechanic bubba who no longer feels the need to tork your brake pads. You eat at our restaurants, we cut your hair, we guard you when you sleep.

But a recipe on how to make kale taste just like a hamburger puts me on the edge of my seat.
