I had the shot. I did not want to feel like this. Feeling a bit poorly Sunday afternoon. Fever set in Sunday night. Monday morning went for the test and I am positive.

At this point I am unsure of the day. I think it is Tuesday. The strange thing is fever rises and subsides. Maybe it has to do with the pills my wife is giving me.

Now I had the shot. I also have O negative blood which is supposed to keep the worst part of this thing in check. But the inability to take a deep breath is a truly scary thing. I cannot because I have coughed so damn much that my ribs are constantly in pain….. The body aches are unlike anything I have ever experienced. And apparently I messed my own self in the middle of the night. My doctor called in some cough syrup last night that helped with the cough though nothing for the painful ribs.

Here is all I am saying guys. I took the vaccine. I wore a mask when I was out…. Though to be entirely honest I got lazy about hand sanitizer which was probably my downfall……. If my shot is keeping me from experiencing the worst of this thing, I don’t even want to imagine how bad off I would be without it….. This thing is no joke.

    Get well soon MD.
Were I a praying man I'd pray for you.

My neighbor has a similar story. He said he felt absolutely miserable for 4 days. He finally figured he got it at work.
He's vaccinated, wears a mask and always carries hand sanitizer.

Keep your wife and daughter safe as much as you can.

I'm pulling for you MD . . . Fight it hard.

I don't wish pain upon anyone, but more short term pain in the ribs is well worth it if necessary to purge this thing from your body.

Remember, you've got loyal employees to look out for you while you're down, so take your mind off the business, get lots of rest and bounce back with a vengeance!

    God bless you, my friend.

I’ve been feeling sick as well, unsure if it is this virus but I haven’t coughed like this in probably half of my short life.

You’ve got it though. Strong mindedness is on your side and that provides a lot of help in these matters. Here’s hoping all goes well.

    Feeling any better?
    I am just a little.

Don't want to be gross but when the phlegm turns yellow you're nearing the end... It means your immune cells are working and being released through the mucus. I hope this won't be a long illness for you. even 2 days is unbearable.
Could be, but at the same time a lot of people have been so cautious with these things, even including double masks, and still contracted the virus. Don't get down on yourself, because in the end there is no way to tell.

Oh my! I'm praying for your full recovery. A friend of mine caught it and reported similar effects. He worked through it, but some effects lingered for a while. Hopefully you can get the most effective therapeutics. God Bless!

Just a quick check in….. The entire week is just a blur in my mind. Yesterday afternoon I was given an antibody transfusion and I have to say that at 5am the next morning, I am beginning to feel human again. I really appreciate all the well wishes guys. It means a lot.

I just heard a report that the J&J vaccine (coincidentally the vaccine I received) has an inefficacy rate of more than 30%. By any account, the attack that my body endured was extreme. Here I am a week out and still in my bed struggling to breathe.

Now, I am not a complainer and did all I could to keep myself and family as safe as was possible. I just rather wish I knew how poor the performance of the J&J vaccine was two weeks ago when I could have been proactive rather than now after I have already added to the glut that our medical professionals are having to deal with.

Just thankful to be here today and wonder what I could have done differently now knowing what I know.

It would help immensely if Democrats would stop weaponizing the discussion...and just let anyone who wants the jab to get it, instead of destroying spoiled vaccines.

Yikes! I wouldn’t touch the J&J. I got Pfizer and haven’t really had an issue.

glad you made it through. Now you have stronger immunity than ANY of the vaccines.

I got J&J too MD. Just because my wife hates needles and only wanted one shot.
My neighbor got Pfiezer and he still got it.

The new variant seems to be more aggressive (assuming that's what you got). But how bad would have been if you didn't get a shot? Would you still be here typing?

And kudos to you for acknowledging the medical professionals. They are far over worked now and people seeking their care but becoming belligerent about it are no help.

My wife pet sits for an ICU nurse. They are currently over run now with unvaccinated patients that do, indeed, get belligerent.

I'm sorry but I'd rather see people such as yourself get through this than some anti-vaccer idiot.

If you believe in your anti vaccine sentiments that greatly then stay at home and die.
