Five cops arrested for beating!

Driving across country the interstate highway becomes a four lane roadway through part of Memphis. My first travel through, I stopped to gas up and stretch my legs and was accosted in the parking lot by “working girls”….. On my way back I didn’t stop. It was the wee hours and in the same part of town I was stopped by a traffic light when a group began walking towards me. I ran the red light and went on about my way…… No thanks. I have no interest in visiting Memphis again.

And for the other crap ... this wasn't exactly a race issue unless you think so just because or whenever a black is involved. race did become a factor in the response by authorities.

 

Wow yeah, I didn't even catch that quote before. I believe he posted it pre-video release, but that assumption itself is telling

I have not heard one single person ANYWHERE who does not abhor how that man was treated.

NOW, you guys have both posted as if you know something so please tell me the reason he came into contact with a special police unit. Thanks in advance.

 

Were you taught by your parents to run from the police? If so, your parents are idiots.

 

I don't think this qualifies in this case UNLESS it comes out that he ran as soon as his car was stopped. Apparently, he did not run from the police until he thought they were going to abuse him more.

 

When I say “don’t run from the police” it’s implied to be “cooperate with the police”. Sure, there are going to be bad cops out there who have it out for someone and will make that person’s life a living hell, but those types of situations are minuscule if not downright nearly non-existent.

If you’re stopped by the police, cooperate. If they tell you to put your hands on your head then put your hands on your head. It’s really not that difficult.

I was once pulled by what I presume was a brand new female patrolman. Had two very young boys in the truck with Burger King paper crowns on their heads and we were whooping it up like any truckload of boys should do.. Lady patrolman pulled me and was nervous as a cat. I could see in my side mirror she was just behind the drivers door with her hand poised just above her holster. I rolled the window down and made a big point of being syrupy sweet. I knew she was nervous. She may have just left an armed robbery. Heck, I don’t know. But it was my job to set her at ease so she could do her job and hopefully save me a traffic ticket which I am proud to say that I didn’t get in that instance…… Cops are people that are tasked with a damned difficult job. All they want is to be treated the way you want to be treated. Amazing how folks don’t recognize that simple kindergarten lesson.

 

Cops are poorly trained by any standard, they have the power of life and death in their hands, they lie for each other and are trained to do so, they protect each other above and beyond protecting anyone in public, they are only accountable to themselves (Internal investigations), they have qualified immunity in civil suites, they are accountable to no one other than the police union, the "few bad apples" are never turned in by the "good apples" we hear so much about, and we pay for their abusive behaviors when they are caught breaking the law.

Name any organization that isn't corrupt that investigates itself. It is a recipe for corruption and abuse of power.

These people are paid a pittance by anybodys standards and you want to analyze their every move like an amoeba under a microscope. And still you will expect them to keep the crack dealers off your front lawn and stand between you and an armed intruder. Who else do you plan to call on to run toward the danger when all else are running away?

 

Yup . . . once again, instead of fostering the sacrifice of oneself for community, those unions emphasize the importance of their collective, and rally around the bad apples when things are going sour.

When are people going to figure out that it's not police, auto-workers, truckers, nurses, sanitation workers airline pilots and electricians that are bad . . . It's the ones that value their union more than serving their customer that are bad . . . in all industries.

Sounds like fearmongering. I don't have crack dealers on my lawn and neither do you. If an armed intruder were to enter my home, the cops couldn't possibly show up in time to do anything anyway. Cops don't run towards danger, they shoot first and determine if there was any danger afterwards and then file a false police report. How many times do you have to see a video of cops doing exactly that before you figure out there is a policing problem in this country? How many people have called the cops and ended up being shot by the cops? I wouldn't call a cop unless I wanted to get shot.

There is a greater problem. My town, like so many, has multiple open police officer positions and no applicants. Nobody wants to join a corrupt policing organization. They are literally starving themselves of new officers because they have such a bad reputation all over the country. People aren't stupid. Why would anybody want to become a cop when we see video after video of corrupt cops abusing their power. You might get a few lunatics that see themselves as heroes, but no one in their right mind wants to join a corrupt out of control roundly hated group of criminals. Crime is just less of a long-term commitment.

 

There is another way to view this problem and I am sure that you recognize that, don’t you?…… It just as easily could be said that nobody wants a job where the current fashion is to loathe the position…. Did your parents teach you to respect authority?

 

Having been in law enforcement myself, every quote that woman said is (1) a lie or (2) not consistent with the training I received. If you've had law enforcement training, I'd like to know what you were told.

 

Who can say? The entire dynamics of the situation may have changed in his favor.

100% yes. Unless something else comes out. I'm ALSO saying he would be alive if the enemies of our country that lead organizations like BLM had not condemned ALL POLICE so that they are ambushed and killed all over this country. The Memphis force is down hundreds of offices and had to change their standards. One of the cops on trial has a rap sheet!

I'm saying he would be alive if the elimination of morals and a "God" were not taken out of our country by atheists, liberals, and other enemies of our country. AND YES, when atheists, gays, illegals, snowflakes, and anyone else who supports the subversive radical crap going on with the way we treat lawbreakers gets in the way, they are my enemy. Enemies of our country wish to eliminate cops. Anyone who wants this is a stupid fool.

I'm saying he would be alive if our kids were not being told cops are bad. We are lucky to be living at a time when cops don't beat confessions out of innocent people.
