I have a nephew that is a 6'4" square jawed young man that is so handsome that women audibly gasp when he walks by. You would never guess it because he is not at all effeminate, but he is a gay man. That's fine. It is his cup-o-tea and doesn't infringe the lifestyle upon me, so I don't care.... However it has opened my mind and thought process to this burgeoning "gender transitioning" phenomena that I hear so much about of late. I can rationalize homosexuality in my mind, but I cannot seem to rationalize genital mutilation. And as I see it, this phenomena is very much driven by social media and it is well documented that young minds are very influenced by social media. So then, who is driving this agenda and why? Big pharma? Has anybody done a forensic analysis of the money trail? Perhaps a fiendish attempt at some grotesque population control experiment?...... Heck, man, I know lots of people that regret the tattoos they received when they were young and foolish, but there is truly no turning back from genital mutilation once the deed is done and who knows what mental impact it will have on these young folks when they mature... Who is driving this agenda? I really want to know.

Social media influence and parents abandoning their responsibility toward their children.

There is no monetary interest via Pharma, Healthcare Providers or Healthcare Insurance Providers, saving there is a deterrence by insurance providers via Physicians.....the cost for any such procedure covering malpractice filings against the healthcare Provider, AND the healthcare insurance coverage cost for the individual...generally prohibitive.

  3. I'll admit that I don't know much about the transgender issue, but I believe there's money in it for big pharma. If they're selling hormones left and right, and then "caring" for these people as they age and begin to break down, maybe even get depressed, they're in for a big payday. I heard that something in the ballpark of 41% of transgender people kill themselves. It's honestly quite sad, I know a couple of trans people and they're some of my best friends despite me not agreeing with it. If you can sell antidepressants (which are not cheap in the slightest) to these people as well as diagnose every little boy with ADHD and give him stimulants from the age of eight, you've got a money-making machine. I'd say it's the public school system and the government's hand in everything. Children hardly see their parents anymore now that men and women must work full-time in many cases to make ends meet. I'd say it's mostly an issue of fatherlessness and big pharma. Heck, in 2020 didn't something like $3,000,000,000,000 shift upwards amongst the elite and big pharma? It's getting more and more difficult to raise a family these days. They destroy the nuclear family, they destroy us. I have heard that it's a population control agenda as well, I wouldn't put it past the government, even taking hormones and not getting these surgeries can render transgender people infertile should they decide to turn back.

No, there is not and no pharma is not.

    NO, "they're" not.

That is a very silly and ignorant statement.

    Again, no.

There may be a rational thought issue concern, with your logic posits.

Are you JN, back to poke?

All I want to know is if kids can get hormones... Why the heck can't I?

  6. No, I don't know who JN is, and I'm here to learn other political opinions and escape the echo chamber of Twitter. Now I don't have figures for how much big Pharma is making from these sales, perhaps it was presumptuous to say much of the money pharma made were from trans-related sales, but the top ten pharmaceutical companies made $602,000,000,000.00 in FY 2022-2023. (1) I suppose you could say that much of my post is a "logic posit" but truly they are just observations I've made along with some opinions I've heard in real life. I'd call it critical thinking, but then some of it is based on anecdotal evidence which I can't link as a source. If you want sources for these opinions, I'd be happy to provide them. Heck, I can write an essay in a day with 2,000+ words and peer-reviewed sources if you'd like. Granted it'll take longer than a day since I'm a full-time student.

What does "make" mean to you?

Then statements that are gossip, and sensationalism with no basis rooted in political ideology, are best avoided, because you are not opining on political aspects.

You are upholding meaningness conspiracy rants, and...what I despise most...mimicking individuals that practice Ideology Of Division, and do so by emphasizing illogical Logic.

I will give you the benefit of good intention.

Might you be able to consider...rationally.....the pharmaceutical world-wide distribution of prescription medicine, and explain while, in a Nation of 360 million+/-, the level of prescriptions used for DSM V diagnosis are 61X the usage in all Asia combined, and 29X the usage in Europe, and...while recordation is difficult at best to determine for the Middle East/Africa due to supply chain quagmire and reporting procedures....reflects the lowest distribution percentage geographically? A planet of 8 BILLION HUMANS?

A side comment: the "offer" to produce an essay is a hrumpfh sulking reply, born of defensiveness, and will never ever never be of any use in a meaningful debate. I am not trying to embarrass you, or demean you. I am, at every opportunity, determined to expose the path of Ideology Of Division, especially when our greatest asset, our young influential bright students, are influenced by sources..media and acquaintances (peers if you will)..... and start walking on same.

That is it. that is all it is.

JN? Joe Nation, MIA, conspicuous by absence. Is he banned or what? If not why would he not come back as himself?
Seems like an odd accusation if he is not banned.

He retired a year or so back. I’m betting he is out and about doing what retired folks are supposed to be doing. I know that when I reach that plateau the only place you will find me is baiting grandkids fish hooks…. Sure makes more sense to me than agonizing over a broken nation day after day.

so then no justification for the accusation?

I saw no accusation. Just ole Charley poking some fun…. I don’t call the firefighters when there ain't any fires….. And besides, I was just applauding Joe for doing what he outta be doing. I sure don’t see eye to eye with him politically, but I do admire him taking time to do “life” after having a career.

Central to this and so many other behavioral wanderlust movements seems to be the liberal notion that any departure from tradition is necessarily progress . . . I think they've disproven that, and done it in spades.

That ignorant linker to fake media who (just as you) failed to defend the crap he copied was "flushed" and IMO, one more needs to join him and it is not me. Then we can hope that some more informed, better educated, Commies, Atheists', Marxists, Queers, and Democrats join this place to debate with us.

  14. I appreciate the comment and objections to my thoughts. 602 Billion was the revenue for the top ten pharmaceutical companies in FY 22-23. That's what make means, though I do know that's not the full picture, as there are debts and liabilities and all the rest to take into account. Perhaps some of what I've said is sensationalism/ gossip/ what have you, but they are all opinions that I have been exposed to talking to family members. Whether or not they're worth taking seriously, it's at least worth talking about. I do agree with you that these can be divisive, but that's the very reason we must talk about them rather than dismiss them as crazy or of no value. The statistics you raised for prescriptions in the US are strange to me, though not surprising. We are quite medicated in the States it seems, I myself was medicated for ADHD in grade school, which I think was overkill. I mean who can expect a 10-year-old boy to sit still for eight hours a day? I do have good intentions here and don't want to irritate, though I suppose that's unavoidable in the realm of politics. What I gather from what you're saying is that Pharma is not making most of its money from transgender-related sales and services but rather drugs for mental disorders such as depression, ADHD, et cetera. It was a defensive reply, but I am not intentionally trying to push the Ideology of Division here, so I apologize if I was being divisive.

An apology is unnecessary, and never apologize to me for posting an opinion, no matter the source of the opinion, whether it is considered an agreeable thought or not.

Again, I have always despised the Ideology of Division, and I consider this insidious faux religion unforgivable when our youngest and brightest future society....our children....are taught to accept and genuflect at the altar of an egregious form of worship, by self-serving media/peers, and political practitioners that opine and influence and supposedly "teach" the method of Prayer, for their own personal selfishness.

Consider: the first responsibility declared in the U.S. Constitution for the person occupying the the most influential Throne in the Free World. It isn't my dad and mom can beat your dad and mom.

To help put real numbers to what the Pharma industry "makes", the NIH stated in 2019:

For pharmaceutical companies, the median gross profit margin was 76.5% (95% CI, 70.3%-82.7%), the median EBITDA margin was 29.4% (95% CI, 26.3%-32.5%), and the median net income margin was 13.8% (95% CI, 10.2%-17.4%).
Margin and profit are not the same thing . . . since the net income margin was, the net profit was

    13.8 / (100-13.8) x 100% = 16%.

If that applied in the year you reference for gross income of 602,000,000,000, then the total profit across the industry that year would be 96 Billion . . . still an awful lot, but to be divided up between thousands of companies.

As for growing the trans community, I don't believe Pharma is anywhere near having an outsized interest in that grain of sand on the beach. There are other market opportunities that dwarf transexualism, and enjoy much broader public support. I personally have no interest in supporting Big Pharma, and no investments in them, yet I attribute the trend to forces other than big pharma, and hope you will reconsider your perspective.
