To end the hype. Number one, Greenland is Danish. Two, no one can afford to purchase Greenland. There is no one as dumb as Napoleon I Bonaparte or Czar Nicholas I around, Alaska and the "Louisiana giveaways" Dumb & dumber. Napoleon gave it away, real value 10 Quadrillion US$, same for Alaska. Greenland is worth 5 Quadrillion+/ USA is 37 T in debt. Trump has bigger prize, Russia.......cause it to unravel.
Seems the argument for the POTUS for wanting to buy Greenland is that he thinks it will fall to the Russians or Chinese. That is so hilarious, Greenland (Denmark) are part of NATO. First, China is in the Pacific, far away. Second, how is Putin going to invade Greenland? Most of his ships are sunk, he is running out of manpower in Ukraine, so if it takes Russians 3 years to gain 1.5% of Ukraine, well its nonsense. Second, if you fear the Russians so much, why are you always taking their side? Would you not instead, supply their adversary with lethal weapons to defeat Russia? The real reason is more likely greed, trillions of Dollars in rare earths, other metals, oil/ gas deposits. But then, the price tag would be quadrillions of US $. USA is bankrupt to the tune of 37T. Maybe offer Putin 10T to sell off Russia, Putin is a narcistic cleptocrat only in it for personal gain. He may go for it. He would sellout his Mother.
Look for the reports, John. China endeavors to find a suitable distraction for the USA so that they can repatriate Taiwan unfettered. Since Trump has succeeded in keeping us at arm's length from the Ukrainian crisis, Greenland provides them the next best opportunity. Greenland is the next frontier . . . Along with Russia, China has been conducting extensive incursions within the arctic circle with their submarine force. The arctic circle hardly seems a suitable locale for Chinese activity unless they actually need to prove their viability in that region for a good reason.
Nope, not buying it. Why would we have to seize Greenland from our NATO allies? They already have our protection via NATO. If Trump's so concerned about safety, make a deal to set up new military bases to support Denmark. Taking it from them by waging a new Cold War on NATO via tariffs (breaking a bunch of "deals" he made on tariffs less than a year ago) is not the answer.
My friend, even without US assistance, the "coalition of the willing" have kept the War in Ukraine from going into Baltics. Also the Russian economy is tanking, Ukraine now has brought misery to average Russians. Germany finally has its pride back under Merz, has seized Russian tankers, also is rearming to have most powerfull miltary after US, again Ukraine is winning the war of attrition. Drones are key for defensive war, you can kill badguys at 10-1 ratio. Time is against Kremlin, in last three years, Russia has gained 1.5 % territorial gains, vs 1M KIA/ 1Trilliom materiel losses, even more in oil revenues. So, Putin is on the ropes. China, they want to keep Russia vs Ukraine going forever, since it will destroy Russia, and China has its target on Eurasian Russia, also China wants US to concentrate its attention on Greenland, Mexico, Colombia. China keeps everyone thinking it wants Taiwan, but it really wants Russia to fall apart, and seize territory East of Urals. Which, if I was in Xi Jingping shoes, I would take. Chinese would take one week to do it. To be rational, Trump and USA must dedicate their resources to destroy the Mullah Regime in Iran, put the rightfull Shah on his throne, MADA (Make Iran Democratic Again)
Seems, in the end, all is well that ends well NATO and Trump came to a agreement on Greenland. Guess, they are not so happy in Kremlin, Putin's wish to break NATO apart did not come to pass.
