Sucks for me, its making my future coin purchases very $$$$. The ONLY positive thing is that my collection has over 650 oz gold content, but most coins are valuabe numismatically.
Don't sweat it, John. If gold goes up too much more, you can always break your butterfly net out of storage!
Actually, I have sold 95% of my collection. But, I also collect postage stamps. I always maintained that gold was undervalued, think of it..... Fantasy $$$$ like BITCOIN is $ 89000. GOLD is real $$$$$. All the gold ever mined fits in large house. Again, I hate seeing it go up, since I want to keep getting AV/EL coins for long time. Prices are now effecting more modern gold issues. Classical coins not yet. Gold could hit 10K sooner then we can imagine. One of my better ones Ptolemaic Egypt AV Octodrachm ND (230-224)BC Alexandria Mint Ptolemy III Euerteles 246-222BC
Yes, I am happy about that Hope it goes down to $2K. I want to add way more beautifull MS/ FDC coins to my collection. Reality, is gold ONLY went down due to stronger US$ and profit taking. I think 6K is still possibility in next three weeks. I hope I am wrong, but I use logic in my estimation. Presently, rare, high quality coins are not influenced by 5K+ $ GOLD. But common dates MS-65 Double Eagles will be, if gold hits 8K or more. Of course FDC Roman aurei, Transylvanian Dukats.......NEVER, not even with 55K gold.
