Last time I checked, saying FICA is not income tax is not the same as "(FICA) tax on employees and employers in NOT a tax". You kinda left out the word "income". Just like sales taxes are not income taxes. Even idiocy taxes are not income taxes.

Still looking for you to show me where I said "inflation was a tax". Oh! And again through all this BS, you have not even denied that 51% of the American households are not paying any income tax and we are sending out 80,000,000 checks every month. HMMMM! I wonder why not. Problem with facts again?

Do you ever admit that you are flat out wrong about anything? If so, I've never seen it. You said that "FICA is not income tax". Are you denying that you said that? Is FICA income tax or not? You can answer a simple question without twisting and turning can't you? We can all look back at your post on the previous page and read what you wrote but now you want to play semantic games that aren't even relevant? You're pathetic and WRONG!

Yes yes! There's the solution. If the lower income population can be forced to bailout the wealthy (which is EXACTLY what happened), then the inverse needs to be enforced immediately.

The "98%" of Americans that supposedly pay "no taxes", probably have a total combined income annually of less than what one corporate CEO spends on jet trips in one week.

Basically all of this is to regenerate a low wage labor pool. It will probably work beautifully when we get so depressed as a society, that 2 bucks an hour will be lapped up by the desperate public.

The corporate masters need to forced to cough up bailouts for the "American people", with the promise to pay it back (just like they did), and then we, the "American people" will let them know if we need more later.

    I never denied say FICA was "not an income tax". However, that is not what you quoted me as saying. My statement;
Seems you missed the word "income" for a second time. Hummmm. Nah, he would not purposely misquote me.

Still looking for you to show me where I said "inflation was a tax". Oh! And again through all this BS, you have not even denied that 51% of the American households are not paying any income tax and we are sending out 80,000,000 checks every month. HMMMM! I wonder why not. Problem with facts again? I think you are avoiding the question.

The point being missed here (or being diverted by moen phd & tomc) is that even when FICA & other taxes are withheld from a paycheck many people get that & more back in the form of a tax refund at the end of the year. Therefore, they aren't in essence paying taxes, are they? Some, on the otherhand, are giving over 1/3 of what they earn to the federal gov't. So what's more fair? Asking some people to pay something or other people to pay even more?

In the situation we are currently in, most everyone should pay more. That is why I said the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire for everyone and thought it was stupid to say that people making up to a quarter million dollars should keep the tax cuts.

It is so not surprising that we extended them all (and added even more tax breaks) and now are facing a budget/debt ceiling crisis (of our own making). I used to have a boss that thought he excelled at crisis management. And if there wasn't a crisis to be found, he'd create one.

There are also a lot of spending cuts that should be on the table but aren't...raise the SS retirement age, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya. And end the Korean War and WWII while we are at it. The War on Drugs too. Eliminate foreign aid...it is not a huge amount of money but it makes no sense to borrow money to give to some other country. Let them borrow it. We also need to get a grip on immigration and secure our borders. And the tax code needs to be overhauled in order to eliminate subsidies, tax breaks, deductions, etc. Quit using the tax system as a pay out to businesses and people. The tax code has no reason being thousands of pages long. Start over.

We as a country need to realize that we can only afford to have the government do so much. But we also need to realize we need to pay for our past excesses. It can;t be done overnight but it needs to be done.

Still looking for you to show me where I said "inflation was a tax". Or maybe you are admitting that you altered the facts to try to make a point.

And you still have not even denied that 51% of the American households are not paying any income tax and we are sending out 80,000,000 checks every month. HMMMM! I wonder why not. Problem with facts again? I think you are avoiding the question.

BTW, the link in your signature is still not working. Does the good doctor need someone to explain how links work?

Try reading the rest of his post. "Many people get that & more back in the form of a tax refund at the end of the year." in other words, someone has $1,000 withheld and gets a refund of $11,111.

I'm taxed at a high rate, file single zero & have an additional $200 held out of every check just to keep from paying so I find myself not getting money back from the IRS. Now, care to answer?

Care to answer what? I thought you had two children. Why would you file single zero? I'm taxed at a high rate also. But I use the deductions allowed me.

I posed a question or two in post #65. You quoted what I wrote in your post but for some reason didn't answer what was asked. Why not?

Don't feel left out. I am still waiting for my answers to the question/statements posed in post #54, #57, and #59. Somehow I don't think I will be seeing an answer.

Fair? There are people, there are children going hungry (and I dont mean ready for dinner) in this country while others take a bite or two and throw food away. Is that fair? But to answer; no it isnt fair. A lot of things are unfair. How many more are giving one third?

I pay between 16-18% in taxes. And I dont get a refund. But I sure as Sh!t dont give the govt. more than what I owe. Why, 'cause they dont give me more than they have to either. I can live with that.

How do I get those rates? I'm more in the 27-33% range and I have 3 kids.
