So the devout Catholic in chief has now evidently declared trans have a “day of visibility” equivalent (excuse me, more important due to his ban of religious references ) to the resurrection. Seems a little bit inequitable since the LGBT… blah blah community, has more celebrated days than Jesus. https://www.emporia.edu/about-empor...ersity-inclusion-lgbtq/lgbtq-important-dates/
Commercialization, though many (myself included) would also say that it has to do with the season surrounding easter- spring. A season of new life and rebirth, when the sun no longer sets at 4 and the trees become green again. The chocolates, for me anyway, are just a fun way of breaking the Lenten fast of 2 small meals and one regular meal a day, no snacks and no sweets. The celebration of a vigil Mass or Easter Sunday morning Mass concludes one's Lenten fast. This year was particularly special to me, I have a couple of good friends who received their Sacraments for the first time during vigil Mass. The "Trans day of visibility" thing is more of a slight annoyance than anything, they can call it whatever they want, but it's not going to change the celebration of the day as declared by the Church. It's still the first day of the Easter Octave, and no amount of decrees from the "crown" are going to stop me from praying and honoring the Lord during this time and every day. They can call Christmas "Therian Worship Day" for all I care, I'll still be at my local Church, attending Mass and celebrating the Nativity of our Lord, and I hope my fellow faithful do the same. I will not kneel at the altar of the new "marginalized" groups, I only kneel to the Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament. Anyway, I seem to have gotten a bit off track. That's just my two cents, though, ask me to elaborate and I gladly will.
Maybe, but, while the egg appears in Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Job, Jeremiah, Revelations, etc., the potato not so much.
I suppose the potato suggestion was nixed due to eggs being dyed all colors of the rainbow. But thanks for the eggucation. Edited to append the thank-you
No, it was because the Irish were involved. You know what happens when the Irish get involved. FUBAR reigns.
When the Irish get involved, car bombs and Armalites rid the streets of imperialistic brits. Up the RA!
Wouldn't the Irish just dye the Potomac green to give everyone an excuse for drinking beer the rest of the day?
I am convinced that deconstructing time honored American traditions are the cornerstone of this revisionist dream held near and dear by the progressive left. Destabilization tactic.
The Rainbow constituency in D.C. is the presumptive 3rd Party (which may....and more likely will....fuse with one of the 2 "traditional" 21st Century Parties). I am simply suggesting this presumption based on the pretty flag colors. People like colorful flags and stuff, instead of boring donkey and elephant images. I could be wrong. I have not seen a pretty flag from any other constituency yet.
