Howdy peeps, I just found out PRWE is censored. I'm curious as to why there's any werd censorship here? I thought this forum was here so we could talk freely, whereas on Cointalk, we have to use PG-13 language but there shouldn't be an age limit on the language here? Other than, of course, keeping the level of thinking as close to the bottom rung of the ladder of intelligence as possible. We wouldn't want the intelligence level (IQ) of PRWE to explode past 1. I'm not bitch'n, I'm just baffled, so I'm asking. Ribbit
This place is not tightly moderated. I think of like a Bar or Pub. You can get away with the occasional slip but you aren't going to be allowed to just let the four letter words fly at will. This forum was created as an outlet for people on CoinTalk and other forums to discuss politics, and stuff like that which generally can create ill will. It's for things like saying "Obama's policy on ______ is really stupid" or "All the GOP cares about is opposing Obama no matter how much they hurt the country" and NOT for things like posting kiddie porn. Yes, kiddie porn is an extreme example, but you see we have to draw the line somewhere, a forum that is totally unmoderated will quickly devolve into a porn spam fest.

They are very social animals...and needy...but, try not to judge them, they're just cats.....(the sound of air escaping, from something under the couch)....Oh, they sound angry! The previous incarnation of this site. "Politics, Religion, & World Events." Politics was and is the main focus of each, with the goal to keep the more confrontational and belligerent people from contaminating the site-owners various sites with useless bellowing, chest-thumping and bible-banging. Basically this is the "time-out" room.
I guess I need to work on my confrontational attitude. Am I going to get barred here for not jumping down someone's throat?
If the rest of us haven't been barred for one infraction or another, I think you're safe. Off on a tangent here... Surprise, surprise... I think Peter should give us control over the threads we start. In other words, everyone would be the moderator of the threads they initiate. I don't know if that is possible technically to do or not but it sure would transform this forum into a place where the best posters would have the most successful threads without needing to be moderated. Hey Peter! What YOU say? Like he ever comes here.
Thanks for the informative post. I was head scratching. Not a time out if you want to talk about topics that are not allowed elsewhere and are here. But really, I haven't been here long and am already tired of some of the non intellectuals - so it is like punishment to deal with. Perhaps some day I'll find a better place. Any suggestions?

Stay here long enough and you'll attract flies. But, maybe "time-out" isn't the correct term. I was using it as a warning that, if you stayed here long enough, sooner or later it'd cross your mind. There are many ways to describe this site...the "time-out" room isn't entirely inaccurate, but things like "aspirin ingestion inducer", "banana republic", and "hell" come to mind. There really isn't many wrong answers. Whatever brings you peace. That said, I need to be here a while myself, to explore a few things, but eventually I'll have learned enough and will consider my options as well. The truth is, I'm already there, but just a glutton for punishment, I guess.
