I was listening a Dennis Prager interview on "The Rubin Report" and he had an astute observation... "It's not that people who don't believe in God, believe in Nothing. Quite the opposite...they believe in Anything.
As someone that Dennis might be talking about, I believe anything is possible, even God. Why close off everything else so that you can believe in only one possibility? Doesn't make much sense, does it?
True...and no idea should be dismissed out of hand. However, I was fortunate enough to have been raised in the Church (which one is irrelevant). That foundation has helped my navigate difficult situations in my life. So...here are the choices: Wisdom, vetted by greatest minds throughout History...or whatever AOC says.
Bless me if I am wrong but, the men that wrote the Bible or AOC? Let me try. The greatest knowledge in human history vetted by the greatest minds for far longer than the Bible has even existed or Tucker Carlson? God isn't an idea that gets dismissed out of hand. We've had the idea of God(s) since antiquities. Maybe it is dying because it has run its course? It had a good run. Longer than many, many ideas. No matter how many versions of some deity came along throughout human history, the vast majority have been forgotten, or have evolved, or simply fill a rather earthly purpose altogether. Is it so hard to consider moving on from your current religious indoctrination? Whatever it is? I mean eventually, they all die off. Knowledge is forever. Satan. (⁹◆€♤
There were a few...Plato, Aristotle, etc. That's what's great about the U.S. Constitution. It brings it all together!
Oh...you're right (duh!). I was thinking BC/AD. Since the Bible goes to "Genesis", I guess there's not much that "pre-dates" it. When did the Bible begin? It sounds like 1200 BC... https://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/reli... Old Testament is the,in the first century AD.
Since @JoeNation is going to run and hide, can you think of anyone that gave us knowledge that was vetted predating this? I’m always open to learning as I know that you are.
WARNING: A WORTHLESS ATTEMPT AT HUMOR FROM A POSTER WHO CANNOT ANSWER THE QUESTION ABOVE that caused little @JoeNation to (AS EXPECTED) duck, dodge, and leave the thread. Joe did the right thing rather than dodge, duck, shuck and piss all over the thread as this small Fry did.
