I will be permitted to vote in the General Election for the 2020 race
Unless someone strikingly better will appear on the republican ticket, I will be voting to reelect President Trump for a second term.
Who will you be voicing your support for?

Anyone but Trump. A stray cat with feline leukemia, the batman symbol, the color aqua blue, various inanimate objects, mythical creatures, those two characters from Dumb and Dumber, a bowl of jello, Deez Nuts, The Rent is Too Damn High! guy, .... You get the idea.

I'm just not into treason and corruption as much as the GOP base seems to be. Good luck with your first vote.

Joe, I bet you are a hoot at party's...... I am voting the economy. And I am pretty pleased with the current economy so that translates to a Trump vote.

I’ll bet he isn’t. He sounds like Molotov in every one of his posts. Vyacheslav Molotov was the founder of the Bolshevik Party and was one of Stalin’s leading henchmen.

    I will vote for Trump.

@CoinBlazer my very first opportunity to cast a vote was for President Reagan. That man was so motivational for our nation and we sure needed that at the time. History I believe has regarded Mr. Reagan as one of our better leaders. I was always left feeling that I was very fortunate to cast my first ballot for him. I hope your first ballot cast will be a memorable experience for you as well.

My first vote was for George McGovern. I know that might shock @JoeNation, but I was strongly opposed to the Vietnam War and the way Nixon was fighting it. Today I can at least reconcile that vote with the fact that I didn’t vote for Nixon. Nixon was dishonest and paranoid.

I am generally ashamed of my vote for Carter in 1976. Once more not voting for Ford was a good thing because I thought that the Nixon pardon was a political deal that Nixon extracted from Ford in exchange for his vice presidential appointment.

Still Carter was a disaster of a president. He was a bright and quite honest for a politician, but he got lost in the forest. His priority skills were severely lacking. The economy, the military and our nation image went down the tube under his watch. The job was more than he could handle.

Trump's economy is nothing to brag about. Not that it ever stopped him from bragging anyway but by just about any measure, it is a continuation of the Obama economy to this point and Trump didn't start his presidency in the midst of the Great Recession like Obama did. The tax cut Trump and the GOP passed for the wealthy did exactly what the Democrats said it would do, line the pockets of the very rich and balloon the deficit. We have already spent more bailing out farmers than we spent saving the auto industry after the housing bubble burst. Trump's easy 3% growth never materialized. The coal industry is pretty much out of business and steel manufacturing hasn't returned to anything resembling prosperity.

The economy is weakening. Most economists say that a recession is inevitable in the next year. The economy is merely a single issue. I hope it is enough to keep you warm this winter.

The "good and easy to win" trade wars that Trump instigated are the sole reason that farmers have ended up on the government dole to the extent that they are now.

You are late to the party, Joe. This was a talking point the Dems used a couple of years ago.

Still I marvel at the hypocrisy of your position. In the past you have told us that capitalism is bad because it’s about greed. Business people provide services simply because they are greedy, and that’s wrong in your opinion. You can’t seem to understand that net income is the incentive for business to provide good products and services. You can’t get it through your head that the lack of the profit motive is the reason why many government services are so poorly run.

Have you been to the registry to get your car plates or renew your driver’s license? Some registry offices are run well, but I hear a lot of horror stories from people who wait hours simply to get their license renewed. That is ridiculous.

On the flip side, you want the economy to fail under Trump because you want to elect the people you support. How is that not a form of greed? You don’t mind if people suffer through a recession or a depression so long you get your way.

You spend too much time telling others what they think without ever knowing the difference between your own prejudices/biases/opinions and the actual positions of your opponents.

No one said it would be easy, but even Chuck Schumer of New York agreed with the intellectual property aspect of the tariff war. Perhaps when your side is power again, you will note that China is a threat to the U.S. as well has the Asian region.

In the meantime, Trump has negotiated a new Canada, Mexico and United States trade deal that needs to be ratified by Congress. Nancy Pelosi has refused to bring it to a vote strictly for partisan reasons. Your party needs to start acting like adults and pass legislation that benefits all Americans.

NONSENSE. I NEVER spend paragraphs telling YOU what you think. I tell you what I think. You can take or leave it but stop trying to fit me into your partisan cubby-hole. It just shows that your mind is a permanently closed rusty steel trap and why I generally ignore your posts.

P.S. You quote my opinions wrong almost every single time. Your post above is just another example of how you consistently and intentional or ignorantly misquote everything because you can't step outside of your own biases. I have never said, "the pot calling the kettle black". I said, Pot meet kettle. Another example of you living inside of your own bubble of misinformation. No wonder you are so susceptible to conspiracy theories and False news cable shows. Geesh!

I sat through almost 30 minutes of a 40-minute discussion about economic theory since Adam Smith. You posted that you don't like capitalism because it's based on greed and that this rambling discussion expressed your views. I was merely stating what you have written in the past.

Unlike some sites, you can't go back and change your post, so I'll go look it up when I get the time if you persist in claiming that my statements are inaccurate. I am always amazed at the way you left wing folk run away from claiming membership in the Democratic Party and “socialism” when you spout it constantly.
I am a capitalist with belief that the system should have a safety net for those who are down on their luck, and I’m proud to admit it.

As far as my biases go, I don't like socialism. That economic model has destroyed many lives. If you would care to look at the history of the Soviet Union, Red China, Cambodia, Cuba and Venezuela you will see that is true. The human rights track record for communism and socialism is dreadful, and yet “the intelligentsia” continue to push it, and label those who oppose it as “stupid reactionaries.”

That’s what you and left don’t like about Trump. He is a capitalist, and he has done very well in the system. You figured you were well on the way to socialist America under Obama and only needed eight years of Hillary to slam it home. That’s why you so angry about the results of the 2016 presidential election, and are doing all you can to reverse it.

Donald Trump on March 2, 2018, said, "trade wars are good, and easy to win."

Again, you want to throw me into a bin, dismiss me as a member of the Democratic party, apparently because I'm not a fawning devotee of Dear Leader Trump. Is is beyond you to conceive of somebody that isn't a Democrat, but who doesn't support a crooked narcissistic mountebank?

As for the trade agreement you put so much store in, it's essentially NAFTA with a few tweaks. I think you are well aware of the way the government of the US works: Congress is not there to rubber-stamp whatever the president brings before it. There are changes that members of Congress want to see made before ratification. If the White House is unwilling to cooperate and work with Congress, then the agreement will not get ratified.

Why are you people so afraid to admit what you are? Do you think pretending to be "an independent" makes you seem more credible? Given the disrespect you show toward Trump, you are either “Never Trump Republican,” like Mitt Romney or Steve Hays at The National Review or full-fledged Trump hater like @JoeNation.

An independent would point to the fact that unemployment has been all time lows, job creation is strong, and African-American and Hispanic unemployment is at all time low. Those are things to celebrate, and a moderate should be willing to do that, instead of constantly carping about how bad things are.

You're incredibly sure of yourself, for somebody who has only had a couple of interactions with me. Why do you jump to assume that I'm being dishonest?

Instead of addressing the substance of my post, you make a point of attacking me personally. I think that's because you know you're unable to counter the facts that I presented.

That communist has good reason to despise the Democrats. The Democratic party is a corrupt organisation.
