Project Veritas, a conservative activist organization founded with the intent to, according to their Mission Statement, "investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud and other misconduct", has been accused by the Washington Post of attempting to trick it into publishing a fake story about Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Alabama accused by many women of molesting them when the were teenagers.

Over a period of a couple weeks, a woman named Jaime Phillips recited her story to the Post about how she and Moore had a sexual relationship in 1992 that resulted in an abortion when she was 15. However, prior to these interviews, Ms. Phillips had created a GoFundMe page where she stated her intent to go to New York City and work "in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceipt of the liberal MSM."

In other words, Ms. Phillips was going to fight news stories about Moore's past activities with underage girls, the so-called "fake" news, or fake fire with her own idiotic fire, or fake story about her own supposed relationship with Moore.

Soon after the Post refused to publish the account, Ms. Moore was seen walking into the offices of Project Veritas. Nice try assholes, but fighting supposed fire (news stories you don't like) with real fire (fake stories) is only going to result in someone getting burned, and that's what you get for being so dumb lol

The duplicitous lout behind "Project Veritas" has repeatedly demonstrated his willingness to attempt dirty tricks to score political points, and generally his clumsy scams have failed, at least once costing him 100 thousand dollars. Those whom zealous devotion to the right-wing has made gullible (including absent members of this site) can't seem to get enough of his half-witted capers, though.

They should have called Bernie Bernstein. I hear he's looking for willing informants to help him make stories for The Washington Post. o_O
