It was posted by a 63-year old white woman that goes by Rusty's girl. Tell me what you think.

P.S. I've known this poster a long time. I'm positive this is authentic.

Attacked By Neighbor of 20 Years
I swear to God people are losing all semblance of reason.

I was out raking leaves just now, minding my own business. A near neighbor, who I've known for over 20 years, walked up to chat (as she has done many times before). I said the typical "Hi, how you doing?" and I guess that was all she needed. She absolutely launched. It was MY fault Biden was elected. It's MY fault the country is ruined. Apparently having a Biden sign in my front yard was way more powerful than I ever imagined. And our state went for Trump, so it's obvious my vote didn't make a difference.

She grabbed the rake out of my hand and pushed me, screaming that I needed to move "somewhere else". Thankfully, my next door neighbor came out, yelling that he had called 911. You would have thought that would have slowed her down, but no. She continued to push me, swinging the rake and screaming that I had ruined her life and that I needed to leave. Another neighbor came out and ran over to try to wrestle the rake out of her hands. He got whacked in the head.

Fortunately, there's usually a patrol car sitting less than a mile away at our local park, so the response time was swift. They hopped out and ended up having to wrestle the rake out of her hands. All the while she is ranting and raving, spit flying (no mask, of course). They ended up cuffing her and putting her in the squad car, at which point she started banging her head against the glass. I felt like I was in a bad episode of Live PD or COPS. Neighbors up and down the street were outside watching the spectacle. The police had to hogtie her to keep her from injuring herself. All the while she was wailing that Trump was President and my "kind" needed to leave the country. My kind? I'm a 63 y/o white woman.

Both I and my neighbor are pressing charges. I'm sitting here in shock, trying to understand how someone I considered a nice neighbor could have lost all reason. I can only think that she is suffering from some mental disorder and has had a break of some kind.

Right after the election the SO and I had a talk about moving to a "blue" state, given all the craziness going on. I didn't want to, but sadly, I am rethinking that decision.

Anyway, I'm going back and reading some more.....o_O

Wow. I hope she does press charges. This whole thing with decorum has really deteriorated this last year or so. I cannot imagine a neighbor of mine coming unglued like that. I will say that I wouldn’t allow campaign sign in my yard or in front of my business because I feared just this sort of thing. We have got to get a grip in this nation and learn once again to be gracious to one another and accept each other’s differences.

I have a slightly different take. I hope that the woman gets some professional help not jail time. Clearly, she has what I like to think of as political PTSD. There are people in this country that have been so traumatized by pundits that they actually believe that their worlds are about to come to an end. It isn't a matter of simply being more kind to each other, we also have to stop terrifying people into insanity. Not everyone out there is stable. When you terrify unstable people, they will react irrationally. Listen to Tucker Carlson some time. He is a prime example of those terrifying these unstable people. I am not saying the there aren't people like Lawrence O'Donnell that don't walk right up to that line as well, but fear mongering is ramping up to varying degrees on both sides because it works. Try and remember the last time a "presidential election was the most important election of our lives". I literally can't remember the last time when it wasn't "Armageddon" if our candidate wasn't elected.

Lawrence O Donnell isn't what's wrong with the country today. I wish the whole
    thing had been recorded.

Of course. Hate speech isn’t hate speech when you support it, is it??

Too many people are getting hooked on FearPorn. No matter what your political persuasion or vision of the end times, there's a media outlet catering to your bases impulses.

My wife and I have lived in our house nearly 30 years.

This year was the first we ever put a sign in our yard.

    DUMP
    TRUMP

No problems but it certainly crossed my mind.

It's still proudly displayed in my red state.

Did fear porn arise from fear culture? I see the media as more sensationalists than fear peddlers. No, it takes a politician to really crank out the fear. But I suppose that all things considered, the sensationalists and the fear peddlers are just feeding off of each other.

I see the reverse. If it is sensationalism then stupid people tricks and rescued kittens would get a few lead stories every now and then. As for the politicians; the people have trained them very well to say exactly what we want to hear.

When has a rescued kitten ever been the lead?
