Fox News host Sean Hannity took to his radio show Wednesday to once again downplay concerns over the coronavirus outbreak, this time citing a Twitter crank to credulously claim that it might “be true” that the “deep state” is using the pandemic to hurt the economy and push “mandated medicines.”

Hannity, who also serves as an informal adviser to President Donald Trump and is sometimes referred to as the White House chief of staff, first pointed to a far-right blog to insist that the American public is approving of the president’s response to the coronavirus.

“Gateway Pundit points out that, as of yesterday, that the president’s approval rating is fine, and he’s getting pretty good grades on everything else,” Hannity boasted during his afternoon radio program, as first spotlighted by Media Matters.

A Quinnipiac poll released earlier this week, however, shows Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 41 percent amid fears of the coronavirus crisis worsening. A plurality of respondents also disapproves of the president’s response to the outbreak, compared to just 43 percent who approve.

    A piece of advice.

At this time unity is a lot more important than partisanship. You are entitled to your opinion, but getting through this is not going to be aided by constant bickering.

So criticizing uber partisan hacks like Hannity is to be lauded.

    You're welcome

No, you can call Hannity a fool, just as I can call Don Lemon an idiot. He is not in the government and is only a commentator.

Going after the President, the governors and other government officials who are doing their best to deal with the situation, for purely partisan reasons is counterproductive.

As I told another member of these boards, who will shortly become one of your allies, messing around with this issue for purely political purposes is like playing with a dead cat. This how Senator Linsey Graham characterized Nancy Pelosi’s delay in delivering the Articles of Impeachment.

Playing with this dead cat will not change any minds and will blow back on you if you persist. But if you insist, going ahead.

John’s correct, you know. The partisan “hate speech” isn’t playing well in today’s climate. I know it’s difficult for tough speakers such as you have displayed in your six posts. However the memo went out last week and you too must assimilate. There are no guilty politicians right now. Only Americans trying to solve a very large problem.

You coming very close getting shut off here. If you nothing to bring except hate. If you are here to be a troll, I am not going to waste my life on you. We obviously had divergent views, but if you attack other’s religion and very reasoned politic views, I’ll just turn you off.

You can try to influence people or change minds, or you can spend you time with radical politics.

not liking Trump or what's become of the GOP isn't radical at all and is a legitimate political opinion shared by at least half of the country. I haven't made any ad hominem attacks

Okay, I think you are the same person under a new name. I have enough stress in my life right now. I don’t need you. I don’t where the reasoned liberals are these days. Perhaps they are like Alan Dershowitz and have left the Democrat Party until it regains its sanity.

I think you should consider people like George Will or David Frum instead. Oh and Michael Steele

And I have lost respect for all of these people, especially George Will who always was suspect. I never trusted him. Ditto for Bill Krystal.

How can you be a conservative Republican and then support the Democrat Party which is now run by socialists like AOC and the Squad and Bernie Sanders?

If I were an anti-Trump Republican, I would have to recuse myself. I could never support the Democrat Party the way it is now.
