Somali is a confederation of clans. the Islamic courts were not the "warlords". Sorry BD but this post aint quite true (typical of this forum).

 

Danr did Ben say that they were Warlords? No his post stated the era of the Warlord is now over. Please read the posts 1st. And I have to ask in a a clans who runs the millitery wing? yup you got it a Warlord.
Warlord is the term used for a suprem leader of a clan, sect or confederation, it is also the generic term used for the leaders of the different millitia factions in Somalia for quite some time.

well, as Somalia goes...the Islamic federation defeated the warlords that previously controlled (and subjugated) Somalia. That is not to say the Islamic fighters leaders arent warlords as well. I think we call the current one we arent supporting warlords. In current times we are supporting the ones we were against before because they were run off by something worse.

 

As I said it is a generic term but Danr wants to call it lies because of a single word LOL
