I have never been a fan a labor unions but all that aside..... Can I just say that I find it difficult to sympathize with a group whose average annual earnings are six figures?
And want a guarantee that automation will not be invested in by the company . . . And want a guaranteed annual raise of 8.5% each year for 7 years.
Doesn't help much that their spokesman sounds like a mob boss..... I mean... I get it. If you want to negotiate, you start high and hope to negotiate down to what you really wanted to begin with.... But when your annual earnings are double what the median American's wages are, it makes it rather difficult to drum up support from those of us that work every bit as hard as they do for far less.
Amen. I'm sick of whiners complaining about it when they don't get their overtime, and then attempting to justify high hourly rates by pointing to how many hours they work. I've worked salary jobs since 1983 and probably averaged 50 hours weekly over that time . . . Excellence doesn't watch the clock, either to see how soon one can leave, or to see how much overtime one has racked up. I'm done when I'm done.
It's too bad they all can't be fired. Then any who want to come back to work (on probation so no slow down) AT A REDUCED SALRY could be hired again. Then we can put all the illegals to work at $12 an hour to pay for breaking the law.
