Majority of Trump voters believe it’s ‘time to split the country’ in two

The highly-respected University of Virginia's nonpartisan Center for Politics has released a new study that finds a majority of Trump voters believe it's time to split the country into two, with "red states" and "blue states" seceding from the Union.


The organization, headed by Larry Sabato of "Sabato's Crystal Ball," reports that four in ten Biden voters agree.

“The divide between Trump and Biden voters is deep, wide, and dangerous. The scope is unprecedented, and it will not be easily fixed," said UVA Center for Politics Director Larry J. Sabato.

“In order to figure out ways to bridge these divides, we need to understand not just the divides themselves, but also understand the ways in which we can, together, move forward to reach common ground. This project helps us do both," said Larry Schack of Project Home Fire, a new initiative partnering with the UVA Center for Politics.

The report top-line revelations include: "Trump and Biden voters are at crisis stage"; there is tremendous "fear and distrust among Biden and Trump voters"; and "Many Trump and Biden voters believe the deck is stacked against them, and their commitment to democracy is wavering."

Crystal Ball's managing editor, Kyle Kondik, tweeted out some charts (below) from the project. Among the disturbing but unsurprising revelations:

Eight in 10 Biden and Trump voters say elected officials from the opposition party present a "clear and present danger" to democracy. Almost eight in 10 Biden and Trump voters say Americans who support the opposite party have also become a "clear and present danger" to the American way of life.

The report also finds strong areas of common ground, including on the need for improvements to the electric grid, water supply, roads, rail, and bridges, and raising taxes on the wealthy.

 

Universities being non-partisan?

It's not true just because someone says it.

But I mean, why should someone in a red state have their federal taxes bail out terrible economic policy in California, Washington, Oregon, etc?

I have a friend who thinks the only solution is to split America in two...a Constitutional East and a Marxist West. He doesn't believe it's possible to "cleanse" America of Marxists (mostly white liberals).

Personally, I think that's a ridiculous plan. I support a restoration of the Constitution, validation of current citizenship, and an end to birthright citizenship. Anyone unwilling to pledge their allegiance to America will be deported. Anyone who can't pledge their allegiance to the Constitution has no home in America.

I had a thought where we could build an actual communist "theme park" in some remote/abandoned area and send college students, journalists, and any other leftists there for a summer vacation. They have to leave their phones/technology behind and must spend a full summer living the true communist life (communal work, rations, minimal material possessions, etc). There can be a secret film crew too to record the happenings. I wonder if they would learn anything?

Back in the mid '90s, I worked at the Skunk Works in Palmdale, CA. My Dad came out for a visit, so I took a month off, rented a Ford Thunderbird, and we visited every National Park west of the Mississippi. We drove through Death Valley on the way back and I can tell you, it has a beauty all its own!

Death Valley is a tribute to natural "climate change". It's over 200' below sea level, sits on 800' of salt, and has incredible plants that need salt to survive! There's some sort of holly-looking bush there that has white leaves. It can't survive without high concentrations of salt. The Earth adapts...God adapts.

 

Not to get too far off topic, but it has to be said..."Man-Made" climate change" is a hoax. Sure, atmospheric carbon has increased from 280 ppb to 380 ppb since 1870. That seems like a lot, right? Sure, it's over-running the Carbon cycle...but so what?

Atmospheric carbon was 7000 ppb during the Jurassic Period...and the Earth did just fine. Did the GMC Suburban kill the dinosaurs? Of course not! The FACT is that atmospheric carbon is near historic lows. We only began measuring atmospheric carbon in 1870...just 20 years after emerging from the Mini Ice Age (Maunder Minimum) and we're heading into another Maunder Minimum predicted to last from 2020-2070.

The FACT is...solar activity is what dictates climate on Earth...not cow farting or coal burning. If we want to reduce pollution, let's do it! But let's keep it in perspective and not let Marxists use it to further their evil agenda.

 

...and one significant solar flare or asteroid could be the end of life on this planet. Global warming will continue regardless of the changes made by man. The handwriting is on the wall, but few are willing to look. How ironic is it that we will follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and in the future, seek shelter below ground.
