Just trying to lighten it up a bit. I'll start a non political thread.
I am really into vegetable gardening, and due to the Phoenix heat and horrible soil, I do it in containers on the 10x20 patio at my condo.
I use self watering EarthBox containers. .....tomatoes, PEPPERS, cukes....beans....etc etc.....

    Anybody else?

I also pressure can my harvest as I have a walkin pantry.......not a doomsday prepper kook at all......just love growinv organic and non GMO veggies:)

I would like to but I'm not home enough because of work to care for a garden. Like you I'm in the desert and many here have gardens all year. I have a lemon tree if that counts.

I wonder what kind of pepper those are. Or maybe I should ask how many scoville they are.

My gf has a garden. A month ago I brought home some strawberry plants a past client of my boss gave to me. He has a garden too, and apparently they overgrow, and he just mows them every year to keep them in check.

I planted them in a raised bed for my gf, and just today she harvested a second batch of fresh strawberries from 'em. We tie plastic bags around the fence on the garden to keep the deer from eating everything, as they visit nearly every night.

My peppers are jalapeno and standard habanero for the most part.....habs go about 200-300 thousand Scoville. I do grow exotics including Butch T Trinidad Scorpions....over a million Scoville. .....some bhut jolokia, 7 pot and ghost peppers but only one plant of each.....
My main love is tomatoes. .......and the fixins for salad.....nothing better than a salad picked just a few minutes ago

I don't know how you eat that stuff. After my illness, a green bell pepper tastes hot to me.

Peppers have more CVitamin than an orange....capsaicin wards off pain as you can see in the various arthritis rubs....folks in S America with a pepper rich diet have much lower rates of many types of cancer.....
I just have a hot bug........if it doesn't make your forehead sweat it belongs on the baby food aisle. My wife is a chilihead as well........it works for us.
6 plants each Japs and Habs then one each of the superhots

Yes. Fresh, garden tomatoes are completely different than those so-called "tomatoes" in the grocery store.

All true. And great reasons to eat hot peppers if you're able.

I stopped at a roadside BBQ stand years ago and asked the owner if he had any hot sauce. He said, "Do you want to try something really hot?" Well, of course I did! He brought out this unmarked bottle and said he got it from Mexico. The sauce was nearly black. He said he used a couple drops of it per gallon to make his "hot" sauce. I took a toothpick and dipped it into the sauce so there was maybe just a drop on it.

I tasted it and my tongue immediately went numb. My mouth was on fire and stayed on fire for about 30 minutes. I've never tasted anything that hot. It was fantastic! I didn't find out what peppers were in that bottle, but they probably had a Scoville rating of, oh... perhaps TEN TRILLION!!!! :)

I grow peaches, grapes & prickly pear cactus on the farm & squash at the house. There's nothing better than grilled squash!

Coin.....that was capsicum oleoresin.....an extract and considered cheating in the pepper world. Smoky taste and smell with freakin heat but not natural peppers. Hotsauce makers use it too often......I call them cheaters. About $200 a gallon but it goes far.....like you said toothpic size servings.
My trinidad scorpions are just as hot and real.....from dirt:)

Grilled squash? Please, clue me in :) And thanks for the backup OKC on the pepper facts. I don't know a lot but I know peppers and Lincoln cents. Folks....if you can, make peppers part of your diet. Anehiem or " long greens" are mild and have all the benifits:)

Just take your squash, cut it down the middle into strips or chunks, drizzle some olive oil & sprinkle with your favorite seasoning ( I use a cajun mix). Don't cut the pieces too thin though, they don't hold up to the heat if you do.
