Well, it's probably better than winding up in Obama's gulag under the NDAA. At least he will have legal representation and won't be there indefinitely.

Hmmmmm, Texas...the state that installed an express-service to kill people on Death row. Home of two of the most stupid governors in recent history.

Makes perfect sense that the AUSTIN POLICE would arrest the young man, as Texans don't generally think first, then act.

    BUT...

IMO, the feds were the ones who would have jurisdiction to investigate and if necessary, arrest the young man, but the AUSTIN POLICE did instead.

But of course, SOME people link OBAMA to it, because they HATE Obama and can't REASON because of that irrational hate, even with the information available to them they HAVE to link Obama to it.

    Just. Saying.

You might find it interesting to learn that Austin is one of the most liberal cities in the states. You know - The point: Learn, little one, learrrrrrrrn.

But, no, I don't think Obama had anything directly to do with it aside from setting the tone for the rest of the liberals.

BTW, NO ONE, but NO ONE can take the governor's crown from Illinois. 4 of the last 7 governors were/are jailed.

Who is linking Obama to it? I'd sure like to see some news articles linking him to this. Can you at least tell us where you heard that someone was linking Obama to this?

Can't help but think there is more to the OP's story than written.

The fact that Carter is in jail is just more evidence that police can be completely dimwitted jobsworths, as if that were needed. Some might take it as evidence that the United States has lost its War on Terror; when terrorists have succeeded in convincing people to enact such laws, and to enforce them, then the freedoms that the terrorists hate (according to the erstwhile President of the United States) are well on their way to disappearing.

The Persecution Of Justin Carter And The Consequences Of Fear-Mongering: If This Doesn’t Make You Angry, Something’s The Matter With You <<< Not a news article, just a right-wing blogger.

Yes, we already know that Obama, Biden, et. al., have done things that are terribly, unforgivably wrong. That's not a revelation. But, who (besides some blogger or forum junkie) is linking Obama to the story in the OP? The accusation in Post #3 is what I'm trying to substantiate. Any legitimate news sources?

While I think the actions of authorities was excessive in this case, the big difference between this happening in your native England the US is that in England they were smart enough to enact gun laws that prevent much violent acts with guns, where as the US is blind to such things so we have to assume every moron who even jokingly suggests shooting up a school is potentially going to do so because getting guns is easier than breathing here. These are the situations we have made for ourselves and now have to live with.
