Several MAGAs here have said that we are in a recession right now in various posts across several threads. THEY STATE THAT WE CURRENTLY ARE IN RECESSION OR THAT ONE IS ON THE WAY. All while complaining about inflation which is the opposite of a recession. You know who you are, and you only have to search the word "recession" and you can see all of them. The only problem is that we are not in a recession and saying it doesn't make it so no matter how many times you parrot Fox News. Recessions are inevitable and we may find ourselves in one sooner or later but that isn't now. The rule of thumb definition of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth. Can any of you point to two consecutive quarters of negative growth anywhere? No, you can't. So, stop quoting your BS news sources and start thinking for yourselves once in a while. It would be a nice change.
Boy @JoeNation , you barely escaped with a half-truth that time . . . we were in a recession until the Q3 2022 numbers were released, less than a month ago. As for your understanding of economics, understand this . . . inflation and recession are not necessarily opposites. Can they, and do they impact one another? Yes, but there is often a lag between, and those impacts are usually not concurrent. Will people curtail their consumption as the result of a rise in prices, or will they buy more in advance of another anticipated rise in prices? Think hard now . . . just don't hurt yourself. I'll look for your reply before I answer the foregoing question for you . . .
Dear Joe (ignorant) nation, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE DEMOCRATS CHANGED THE OLD AND ACCEPTED DEFINITION OF A "RECESSION" THAT YOU QUOTED ABOVE SO THEY COULD MAKE IGNORANT AMERICANS THINK WE WERE NOT IN OR NEARING ONE? It was all over the corrupt media TV the ignorant monkies watch. Look that one up on "Scopes." _______________________________________________ I often wonder how ignorant a person is who never heard of "Scopes."
Well, receiving no reply from you @JoeNation , the answer is both. Discretionary spending will decrease, and the purchase of staples will in bulk will be emphasized to stretch one's resources until things normalize. Obviously this hurts some segments of the economy, and gives a temporary boost to others. Others still, long ignored during good times, will experience a comeback and thrive during hard times. These changes will lag behind the public's recognition of the increase in its cost of living. That recognition (mass media finally admitting that inflation has hit) usually lags behind the actual increase by months as well. We are not in a real recession yet . . . we barely got a taste of it this past year, but that pales in comparison to what lies ahead. Buckle up!
@JoeNation I guess you missed this post while you were posting nonsense all over other threads. Did you figure out the trick the Biden administratin tried to get past educated citizens. It only worked on the ignorant folks dancing around to the tune of Biden's organ-grinding propagandists. @JoeNation You started this nonsense. It is YOUR DISCUSSION little joey. It looks like you are going to dodge, duck, shuck, ignore, and leave the thread as usual. So Sad, it's the way your ilk behaves. _____________________________________________ I often wonder how an ignorant person feels when he realizes what he is.
Any comment @JoeNation? Run, run, run, buddy, run, run, run, the truth is going to get you while we all are having fun!
Joe Florida, New York/New Jersey/Connecticut metropolitan areas-Economies are greatly boosted by families with money moving in from India and China. Whereas, more and more people of all backgrounds who have been here see that their children can not maintain the gains they made moving up the economic ladder.
