If school was left to pure academics, the arts, and physcial development thru sports then I would accept your math. However, religion is being taught,(Islam- which was covered extensively in other threads), as well as sex and alternative lifestyles being preached.

That would be funny if it wasn't heresy.
    1. Jesus was referring to monetary items. The jewish schools did not have Caesar's face stamped into their walls, right?
    2. If you are a Christian you cannot separate your politics and your faith; they go together. Like if you are a governor and there is an anti-abortion bill for you to sign, your religion will come into play:
    Christian, Yes.
    Atheist, No.
    Muslim, ??.
    3. Danr, stick to arguing politics; you are in total ignorance when it comes to theology.

There is a big, big difference between informing students about what certain religions like Buddism and Hinduism believe and teaching Christianity in publicly funded schools. If you want that type of education, go to a private school. Is that such a difficult concept? My son is in 6th grade and his school covered sex and reproduction basics very tastefully in his health class. What could possibly be the problem with that? I looked over the matterials he brought home and I can't figure out what anyone could possibly object to.

I feel sorry for your son being brought up in an environment so hostile to all that is good and true. The next comment doesn't apply to you Moen.

One of my friends made a very apt comment the other day that many liberals abort(kill) their babies, and most conservative parents have at least 4 or 5 children, so guess who will be the majority in the near future.
How very ironic that the policies of murder and infanticide they encourage will actually make them go extinct.

So as I understand it you are saying that Jesus wanted an Earthly kingdom and Judas wanted a spiritual kingdom?
    Your ignorance knows no bounds.

The problem is that christinity is being knocked in school districts around the nation while at the same time Islam is being praised and practices. This was covered extensively in other threads so I am not going into it now but I think that most people realize that Humanities has been shelved for agendas.

As for public prayer, if muslim students are allowed space to pray to mecca three times a day,(again covered in many previous threads)-Why is there disapproval for a child to thank the lord for his food?

As for your son's schooling, l am glad to hear that it is done correctly.

I think "Christianity" likes to portray itself as the victim while in fact is actually the group pushing its own agenda very hard. No one can stop a child from praying over his or her meal even in a public school. I disagree that Islam is allowed to flourish in our public school system and that saying it is doesn't make it so. I remember the earlier conversations about news stories of Islamic studies and I wouldn't say that "most people realize" because I would never assume that I know what most people realize, that Humanities is being shelved for agendas, whatever that means. The stories had to do with people learning about other religions in school like in a study of different world religions class. Some people were just intolerant of anything other than Christianity and opted to make an issue of it by playing the Islamic card. If anything, Muslim students are harassed just for being Muslim and not treated as special with special privileges. Muslim children are not required to pray to Mecca three times a day until they reach adulthood. They don't even have to participate in Ramadan until they are older. I think at a minimum, you are talking about an isolated incident and at the other end you are talking about an urban legend. In either case, it is a poor rationale for the introduction of school prayer into the public school system.

Christianity is being taken out of the textbooks and Islam is being expanded and its history of jihad ignored.
For a factual article that compares curriculm look up this website.
    http://www.nationalreview.com/dreher/dreher021202.shtml
    Or this could be read.
    http://www.danielpipes.org/article/430

Or you could look up the muslim websites:
"GETTING INVOLVED IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM IS A RELIGIOUS OBLIGATION!"
    taken from
    http://www.soundvision.com/Info/education/pubschool/pub.involv.asp

A source of teaching Islam materials for Public Schools to use. Like Posters like, "How did Mohammad become the messenger of God" These are used in the classroom.
    http://www.islamicedfoundation.com/public.htm

I could go on and on and all of these small things add up but like I said there have been threads on this topic already that went into detail.
Ignore as you will but the purpose is to undermine our will to fight and to convert.
To make it simple, it is like the borg from star trek. "Assimulate or be destoryed".

Andy, you watch too much TV and unfortunately believe what you see. BTW The Borg say, "Resistance is futile", and not "Assimilate or be destroyed". Even a dweeby grade-schooler knows that!

Well if I did indeed get the quote wrong, and I think they might have said the above as well, then it is clearly proven that I am not watching enough TV!

Even so, I don't like the borg. They like an ant colony but teched up.
Even so, I still like you even if you called me an idiot with breath that smells like bait.
