I'll preface this by stating that I have been actively voting since the 1980's and have never once been polled, so I don't hold much confidence in all the hullabaloo that surrounds them..... Secondly, working as I do, much of my news are headlines that I peruse while going between web portals at work.... I see headlines claiming Trump is smashing Biden and conversely headlines claiming Biden is beating the pants off Trump. It cannot be both ways. Are the pollsters as one sided in their reporting as the major news outlets are?

    Yea.
The more egregious are those conducted by Colleges and Universities. Many media outlets, and "professional" polling entities "buy" the product from the institutes of higher learning, and apply their own "specialized" spin.

toughcoins Rarely is the liberal viewpoint tainted by realism

I figure anyone who is spending their time polling others to see how the voting looks is intent on disproportionately affecting the outcome of the election.

I've only been polled over the phone, and I've rarely given them satisfaction.

You are correct with the assumption that pollsters are just like news media. Look at the latest news on NPR.
I’ve never been polled either, but I am a poll watcher. The only advice I can give you is actually read the poll methodology and metrics. This will tell you all you need to know. The betting market is a good metric, these folks are throwing money on the table.

It is pretty bad. Best we can do to try to get any info with polls is look to sources like 538 who use pollster history to weight their accuracy. Even it's not perfect, but it was one of the few outlets who gave Trump a decent chance of winning 2016 based on their methods.

Also we can probably just ignore polls. They move so fast it's probably meaningless until election week anyway

Except this time around most, if not all, voters have already made up their minds and nothing - and I mean NOTHING - is going to sway them.
