A Republican historian said it well. Ever since the 1500s, first the Czars, then after 1918 the Reds, now Putin.
First they conquer a Territory, then ethnically cleanse all non-Russians, mass murder/ deportations/ terror.
Thus when the Russians are demanding that those "four Oblasts" in Donbas must be handed over to the Russians for a "Peace Deal" They lie, "what else in new?"

1/ The so called "Referendum" in 2023, half of those regions are under Ukrainian control, so 50% did NOT vote.
2/The ones that where forced to "vote" under threat by armed FSB/ Military, did under duress, most voted YES to save themselves from torture/ rape/ murder.
3/ The Russian "criminal" Constitution then declared this sham a legitimate plebesite.
4/ Witkoff, who doesn't even know the names of these oblasts, declared the Russia have every right to absorb these oblasts into Mother Russia. Makes one wonder what the payoff was from Putin.
5/ He also stated it would be a bad idea to sent European/ UK/ Canadian peace keepers to Ukraine if a Peace Deal is ever reached. I guess he would want Putins OK, like sending N. Koreans/ Chinese/ Iranian ones.
In the end it doesn't matter, Ukraine has full support of West, and will never sign a "dictate" They know that would mean being under Russian tyranny. Its better to fight
on, and hold your head up high, then to bow to a tyrant like Putin. Trump should replace Witkoff with ex: General Ben Hodges, he knows his stuff, Witkoff/ Rubio/ Hegseth do not.
