Yak, perhaps you are unaware that we have no viable immigration policy in this country and haven't had a viable policy in decades. Congress has sat on their hands while each administration seesaws back and forth between both extremes with zero coherence towards any funtional policy while the court of public opinion determines how we should be handling this problem. If people actually go through the immigration process as it is designed, they might get entry in about 15 years. It is purposely slow walked in order to discourage certain applicants. The process is so convoluted and distorted that it might as well not exist. Meanwhile, we get to argue about who is right and who is wrong because our elected officials are a bunch of cowards.

Perhaps YOU don't understand what "WONDERED WHY WE LOWERED OUR LEGAL ENTRY STANDARDS" means.

Tell me the story of how you went through the legal entry process and how hard it was, "decades" ago (when was that?) and how much it cost, and what the testing difficulty to become a U.S. citizen was, after waiting 5 years in country to be eligible to register for a Citizenship process, and how difficult it was to study to pass the Citizenship Test, not knowing what questions the Federal Court appointed Examiner (usually a Federal Judge or Assistant DOJ Attorney) would ask, and how much that part of the process cost. I will wait. I am certain it is a fascinating story.

The rest of the post is the usual gobbledegobbledness designed to enhance the appearance of your encyclopedic knowledge to the reader, and be lulled into a state of awe, made all the more important in delivery via the use of big words like "Yak".

I have come to know and love such posts. There is an endearing quality that is to be admired.

The problem with the Left is that they brand the situation as. "If you don't choose our solution, then you are the problem". "There are a number of solutions for any given problem"...

Take Afghanistan, for instance...Joe Biden picked one solution, but not the one advocated by the Right. So now we're stuck with Biden's results. "My mistake is your mistake". The only thing is...this wasn't a mistake. Biden weighed the consequences and, against all advice, chose this course. That's horrifying! Joe Biden truly believes people should pay a price for not obeying.

Well, I guess that you'd rather talk to the Left than to me. Congress's ineptitude has you dangling right where they want you.

If we are to discuss the ineptitude of Congress, let's get to the heart of the matter and discuss direct taxation.

I would rather talk about your personal extensive legal immigration experience, so I can confirm you are not illegal.

Joe, did you find the original paperwork yet, to share your personal immigration experience story, yet? Do you remember which decade?

I thank Joe for one thing...I don't have to call this mess "Communism" anymore. I just call it "Joe Biden".

    That's your opinion.

The few naturalized citizens I've talked to who have actually worked their way through the entire process said that, while it was lengthy and more paperwork than they would like, it was good for them to have done so. It made them appreciate what they earned, and better prepared them for American life.

They also seemed less than sympathetic toward those who take the easy path via temporary work visas / marriage loopholes and illegal immigration.

You know what Joe . . . there should be nothing to gain for those having no skin in the game.

Maybe we can agree on something? Lock people up who hire illegals.

I'm fine with that . . . they belong in an American jail.

The illegals don't . . . they should all be deported.

If, however, they wish to go to the back of the immigration line and wait their turn, I'll welcome them with open arms.

I second that Emotion (what can I say...I am a Motown guy).

I will also verify from personal experience involving 6 individuals, and 7 different calendar years spanning 2 decades. THAT is their collective emotions. They knew bupkus upon arriving.

    Now:
1 is a County school system administrator. PHD in Education.
1 is a licensed practicing Physician in private practice.
    1 is...of all things, a PHD in U.S. History teaching in a U.S. University.
1 is an NP Patient Advocate Care Coordinator for United Healthcare.
1 is a mom. Her son is a Master Chief with 2 Middle East tours and now in Groton at naval Submarine School as an Instructor. Her daughter is a Flight Attendant for KAL....the D.C. Seoul Zoo flight.

One is her. I almost forgot about her. I am old. And underperforming. My mind wanders (though I admit to some degree on purpose, when she is around).

Funny how the U.S. immigration system was functional, without distortion and convolution during their personal coming to America musical.

Did I mention they are all vicious anti-communists and anti-terrorist and fiercely loyal to the U.S. and the Constitution.
I almost forgot,,,,they all vote. Who'd uh thunk?
