The problem with a U.S. Citizen not knowing Stuff.....

..... EXAMPLE:

CSPAN, early this morning, interviewing an elected Federal Representative, with the usual Dem/Republican/Independent open question Forum, and a particular "aggrieved" constituent with a particular complaint directed at the Representative concerning the replacement of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff, a 3 Star Lt. General, and the constituent presenting the lauded qualifications and (of course) racial component to the "Firing" by the SECDEF, (described by the constituent as a "drunk", and unqualified) and replacing with an "unqualified" (wrong) retired 3 Star Air National Guardsman, without combat experience (wrong), and continuing a diatribe that was worthy of a Shakespearean-like FDQ Scene, AND THAT HE WAS ASHAMED TO HAVE THE REPRENSENTATIVE AS HIS CONGRESSMAN AND REPRESENTING THE CONSTITUENTS'LIFE-LONG STATE....NC., AND THE CONGRESSMAN, WHO NEVER SERVED IN THE MILITARY ( I won't mention the political leanings of the constituent, in the spirit of this Post).

THE PROBLEM:

WITH NOT KNOWING EVEN BASIC STUFF ABOUT YOUR REPRESENTATTIVE,

who in this story, is Congressman Pat Harrigan.

The Representative responded, graciously and certainly deserving of the Title of CSPAN Smack-Down Of The Year, opining that the Constituent may be misinformed and the Representative was not sure where or who how the constituent came to the conclusions, BUT...wait....wait.....wait....here it comes:

The Congressman mentioned a few facts- the Congressman is a Graduate of West Point, with a Degree in Nuclear Engineering, serving as an Infantry Officer in Afghanistan, returning to the U.S. and volunteering for Special Forces and upon completion, assigned as a Commander, Special Forces in AFGHANISTAN (AGAIN). He humbly did not mention to the constituent that he was awarded 2.....TWO Bronze Stars.

The Representative then briefly explained to the constituent that since the beginning of the Federal Republic, POTUS and/or SECDEF can remove and replace the CJCS (or any other military member), and the previous CJCS was not and is not impugned and served with Honor and Distinction and a Combat Hero, and the Congressman does not know of any member of Congress that disagrees.

Oh, well, I am always busy figuring out how I can know some more stuff and.....
