But let's just move on. Nothing to see here folks.
This is what we traditionally call a smoking gun.
You should have said, “It sounds good to you.” As long as you don’t address the issue of Biden’s son receiving $50,00 s month for years, all you are doing is blowing out partisan crap, like Adam Shiff does.
Why you just calm down and wait for the 2020 election? Your current strategy only energizes the Trump base. But who am I to advise our political adversaries? Keep on mouthing off like AOC and the rest of the squad. All you will be doing is singing to the radical Democrat choir. As it was with the Russia story, there is nothing there.
Spoken like a devoted cultist. Dear Leader can do no wrong.
I once had an accountant in my office that was not paying sales tax to the DOR correctly. My oversight was to see that the taxes were paid the 20th. Her job was to divvy up all the local municipalities taxes from the state taxes. She was not doing that. She made a guess, paid the taxes for six months based on her guess. And I was subsequently audited by the DOR.
I tell that to make one point. I was mortified of an audit. I was not doing anything remotely shady. That’s just not me. And in the end the audit showed exactly that. We were a just business efforting to do right. We simply had a lazy employee....... But here’s what the audit did. That audit effectively shut my business down for four days. That is an eternity to an operation that relies on daily cash flow to pay vendors and employees.
You know, while I won’t begin to rationalize the morality of the action I certainly will say that it isn’t that odd for our government to seek intelligence from other nations. Particularly nations that rely on US dollars to survive. I am up to my ears in seeing our government effectively neutered in a singular effort to bring down one man. A man that was duly elected by a just democratic process. It repulses me that the taxes I pay and work very hard to earn are paying elected leaders to do little more that run a three year lynch mob. I am sick of it. Let the man do his job and do the job you were sent to do.
In closing I’ll simply plagiarize, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone”.... I would not hesitate to say that would be a very quiet, mike drop moment indeed.
You do realize that if you hire an employee and that employee breaks the law, the entire company is responsible? You don't get to just pass it off as a bad employee, which it is, but your culpability is without question. So I am unsure how this is related.
Trump has exactly the same pattern of corruption he always has. He denies, he makes excuses, accuses others, then admits what he did as if that makes it OK. His supporters say, "Well, he admitted it in public, there must not be a problem".
Let me make this clear. Using the power of the American Government to smear your political opponents through foreign governments is expressly forbidden by the Constitution. Why his supporters are willing to give him a pass only shows what a bunch of partisan cultists they are.
Believe what you wish. It won't change the wheels of justice because ultimately we are a country of laws or we aren't. Which country do you prefer to live in?
Oh yes... I fully understand the implications of one of my employees breaking the law. If we were collecting sales tax and not giving those monies to the DOR that would have been a crime. We were paying all the tax we collected to the DOR. We simply weren’t divvying it up properly. I was ultimately fined for carelessness, but no crime was committed.
I been politically aware for maybe close to forty years. And thing is I have always been a flag waiving American patriot. My support never wavered whether my man was elected or not. Yes we are a nation of laws. I am simply sick to death of my elected lawmakers doing nothing constructive. I pay them. I don’t pay them for this. Joe, I am truly just worn absolutely out with it all. The man has been under investigation since the day he was inaugurated. I am just plain done with it.
He is under investigation so frequently because he has a long, long history of being a criminal and buying his way out of prosecutions. That is what the rich in this country do. He was good at it. The problem now is the Constitution. He believes that he is above the law and he forgot that he took an oath to uphold the Constitution. The Democrats are well within their Constitutional duties to make him uphold his oath of office. This is more than serious. This will determine whether our country remains a Constitutional Republic or simply devolve into a Banana Republic. Defending lawlessness is anything but patriotic. No one man, especially a seasoned criminal like Trump is worth losing the nation for.
Citations needed to prove the accusation.
Marxist class envy.
How about Joe Biden's son. Oh, yes, I know. That does not interest you enough for even an investigation.
Once more citations needed.
Sorry, I'm not qualified to deprogram you or any other cult member. Try a specialist. I'm pullin' for ya man!
You would think that this doesn't need to be said but, "The President cannot use the power of his/her office to pressure foreign leaders to investigate his/her political opponents"
I guess that if you believe that you are above the law and can do anything you want as president by misunderstand what Article II actually says, you might believe that you can abuse the powers of your office. You can't but then again maybe a little jail time will help him figure this rather basic principle out.
OK. The deed is done and I am sure we are now headed down the road of impeachment. Shouldn’t our tone be one of sadness and concern for our nation? When a football player on the visiting team is hurt on the field of play, do we not cheer in support of him as he is being wheeled off the field? This is being hailed as though we defeated some great enemy, not a wound in our nations highest office. When we cheer the wounds our nation suffers, again we set a dangerous tone for those watching.
This entire farce is setting a dangerous precedent. It means that the opposition party in Congress will now be able to seize the power by nullifying elections and taking the White House by legislative action. What we are witnessing is an attempted coup d’etat. This not something should be taken lightly, and given actions of some politically partisan people in the Justine Department and the CIA, we might be on the road to a police state.
Unfortunately the Republicans began to make the impeachment process into a farce when they went after Clinton in 1998. Now the Democrats are turning into a political weapon when suits their fancy to have a regime change. The founding fathers did not intend for the impeachment process to be taken up lightly. That’s why there were only two serious applications of it prior to the unfortunate actions the Republicans took in 1998.
You would have to see Trump as the victim here in order to feel the way you suggest. Trump is the guy standing over the other player he just blindsided and injured and is doing a victory dance for his teammates who are shuffling around uncomfortably on the sidelines but saying nothing while looking at their feet.
I know that you have said that you are tired of the constant hectoring of Trump by the other side of the aisle and that this latest revelation is just another attempt to take down a lawfully elected president. Let me tell you how I and many others see Trump's tenure.
The Ukraine scandal is very much just a continuation of the Russia scandal. In fact, I'd say that the Russia scandal embolden Trump to go on to bigger and better scandals of essentially the same nature. There is an overt thread that runs all through the corrupt tapestry of this grifter that would be king. That thread is a long thick line of Donald Trumps’ disregard for the rule of law, be they real estate laws, fair housing laws, tax laws, and finally the Constitution itself.
Trump is also a huge fan of Right-wing conspiracy theories much like our local Partisanlines conspiracy theories fan-boy. He also is, I guess for lack of a better term, a publicity whore. The more he sees himself in the headlines, the more he wants to see himself in the headlines. He is masterful at deceiving and manipulating his own brand. He literally doesn’t care who he hurts along that way, what lies he has to tell, or who he has to slander to get what he wants. He has nothing that even resembles a moral consciousness and is driven by an obsession for power, money, and self-gratification. If you peel away the façade he has created for himself, you would only have an ugly grotesque slimy inhuman parasite on the ass of society. In some ways, he is fascinating to watch, like a horrific disaster that you watch out of morbid curiosity.
I get the allure that draws people to such a walking, talking farce of a human being. They see something of themselves in his behavior but could never be so upfront about their own failings while Trump embraces his and spits them back at the world with complete indifference, an indifference born of a nonexistent moral foundation. It doesn’t make Trump right or his followers wrong necessarily, it is just the dance that they are doing right now and they will have to do a lot of soul searching when the music stops, and the party is over. I don’t envy them.
The rest of us will have to either say I told you so or walk away in disgust knowing that in his wake, Donald Trump has left the people of this country a little less compassionate toward one another, somewhat more distrustful of our fellow Americans, and a lot more divided as a Nation. In the end, nobody wins because we all let it happen.
I agree. It's another hoax.
Would you care to discuss Hillary's connection witht he Russians during the 2016 campaign? She had one.
I can relate....
As long as you recognize that shutting him up and sending him packing will be a sure recipe for a complete economic bottle neck. I believe I may have even heard in passing today that the unemployment rate is now at 3.5%. Can’t say I can recall ever seen that since I been paying attention. Sure are a lot of folks out there appreciating a pay check right now. I know you are a smart fellow. Surely you recognize the ramifications that will be felt for the average fellow that just wants to bring some groceries home to his kids.
I can appreciate that Trump is getting a free ride off of the Obama economy and taking credit. But I can also see the voluminous ways Trump is damaging this country on a daily basis. I am anything but a single issue voter. He is an international embarrassment, a corrupt dictatorial fanatic, he uses the office of the president to line his own pockets, he has just about every U.S. Government department in shambles, farmers are going broke because of his trade war, he routinely uses the Constitution as toilet paper, he lies without the slightest compunction, he puts children in cages, insults our allies, and regularly cozies up to dictators, but at least the average fellow gets to buy groceries.
I like your colorful analogies and appreciate the parody in them. I happen to live in a farming community. If you took the farming families out of my church, we would be near empty. They sure aren’t going broke.... In all seriousness.... Isn’t the average fellow what this nation is forged on? Isn’t the average guy that is working, paying his taxes, getting his kids educated..... Isn’t he what this whole experiment in democracy all about?
I guess that you would have to define exactly what you mean by the average fellow before I could agree or disagree with that.
