Venezuela Or The U.S.?

With more and more empty store shelves greeting Americans when they go shopping for food and supplies due to Biden's ineptitude, I was just wondering if this is what it feels like to live in Venezuela.

    United States:

    Just wondering....

Yeah… In a panic, my wife stockpiled groceries at the outset of Covid. She has recently begun hoarding groceries again. It’s just stunning what has happened to our “land of plenty” in ten months time….. As I understand it, this new spending spree that has passed the house has provisions to pay those that choose not to work well into the future. As long as people can get paid to sit in their living rooms, we will become more like Venezuela each day.

Not that long ago, I would have said that was an absurd statement. Honestly, I am not so sure of that anymore. I would have never believed a wholesale dismantling of a great nation would be something anyone would want. But it appears more and more like that is exactly what is taking place.

At one time, I would have said the same about Democrats. However, this new breed of far-left, loony, Socialism-loving, police-defunding, racist, fundamentally-transforming, Alinsky-worshiping, radical Democrat (Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, etc.) wants to destroy America and rebuild it into their fantasy Utopia.

And, you're correct, that is EXACTLY what is taking place.

    Robert Ransom Cautiously optomistic.

The handwriting was posted on the wall in 2008, but nobody believed it could happen. The big question is: Are we at or close to the tipping point and is America oblivious to what is happening to this country?

Absolutely.... It is a common theme among the younger folks in this country. They would rather enjoy life than work to make something of themselves. My very own son told me I was crazy for working as hard as I do. And if the Fed is going to subsidize that for them, then why not?

I feel for them, blindly led to the notion that they can do less for themselves now and not have to make up for it later on.

Payback is a bitch! Not so much for the elder flower-power socialists leading the way, but most especially for these deluded youngsters who will still be here to foot the bill long after their educators have gone pushing up daisies.

While I disagree with them, I don't despise the youth who have been misled . . . just those who pulled the wool over their eyes.

The comparison of empty shelves in a representative democracy to the empty shelves in a socialist regime was the point I was making. Did the point elude you?

I'll be glad to illustrate empty shelves in the United States in 2021 if that will make you happy.

In principle, I would agree that the education process in our Federal Republic for the last 2 decades has failed our youth.
There is a cure, though: mandatory Service in the Armed Forces.

Does Congress have the Will? We will see. It will be a wake-up, when our youngsters experience a determined organized military of a Communist/Socialist government with the goal of destroying the United States, acting on that goal, by direct assault against the U.S., here or abroad.

Footing the Bill monetarily is one thing. Footing the Bill with your own life, is another thing.

This young fellow is a convinced Socialist. It does not matter what fact you present. He does not get the simple fact that he is presently in a Country that is defended by the U.S., and thanks to the U.S., has the 2nd largest Army of any Republic, and a viable Capitalist society, and the People of that Republic are constantly on a war footing and Armed Forces Service is mandatory.

But, the failure of his youth...and his inexperience of youth.... is recognizing only the KPOP generation in the country he resides in (if he actually does reside there) and the MINOR Socialist youth movement within South Korea, that receives a modicum of support from their own U.S. educated Professors. Never mind the thousands of GIs on the DMZ are on 24/7 Watch for a Communist armed aggression, or that we are not there with a military presence to guard against an inevitable communist attempt, but are also there to prevent the South Korean military from crossing in the other direction. Peace thru strength is still the ONLY defense.

The youth of South Korea did not experience the hunger and economic devastation and sacrifice of their parents, who a scant 40 years ago had to fight and claw and build a viable free country, and did so with complete support of our Federal Republic.

Back to that KPOP youth that reside in ROK....ask them and they will tell you they want to live in the U.S., and go to U.S. schools.

Just a thought from an old guy on the outside looking in.... These young folks we are talking with and about are products of what they have been taught and Gene is a perfect example. He is a professional young man that is well equipped to do well in this world. I have had many conversations with him and the young man has a heart of gold. He has no reason to believe that what he has been taught is wrong...... So here we come along. A gaggle of know it all old guys and we demean the young man for believing in himself and what he holds close. And just maybe some of what he believes is right. I don't know, only time will tell..... But I am just thinking that in my life, particularly when I was a young cocky fellow, that anyone that wagged their finger at me didn't merit my time or attention. And if they wagged it at me long enough they might be rewarded with a black eye..... All I am saying here is I think that maybe persuasion is a better tool here. Just a thought. Mopar Dude out....

Spot on, Charley. I’m afraid, however, that first-hand experience with the devastating effects of socialism will be the only thing that will dissuade these starry-eyed kids from their path. I hope it’s not too late by then.

You may be correct. Being a professional young man is commendable. Being well equipped to do well, though, requires an understanding that "old guys" are educating him by life experience, and not coddling him, and....most importantly.....those "old guys" did what was required, complained and moaned, smoked a cigarette, and resumed marching, and made sure their weapon was cleaned, and respected the knowledge of the old guys that were teaching them so they could stay alive and survive.

Being cocky? No problem. Being disingenuous when someone is straightforward and challenging the Ideology of Division and obvious Socialist playbook, and the responding by being snarky and condescending and being evasive with Whataboutism answers, is not a path to survive in a world where governments are intent on destroying your way of life, heart of gold or not.

Young, professional, educated, heart of gold, and well equipped for life.....Good. Our Federal Republic can use that type of person here, now. It is not necessary to use those qualifications in another country, and then find constant fault in our Federal Republic.

Ideology of Division will always be resisted by me. It is the very tool that Socialism/Marxism/Communism uses to control the People.

Those GIs on the DMZ, I mentioned; they are defending members of my family residing in that country. Some of those members are serving in the military of that country. Some now reside here, after serving alongside GIs in our Armed Forces, in Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. Funny thing, their offspring are Gene's generation, and despise Socialism, and understand the danger of same. And, listen.

And THAT is the very reason I continue to admonish anyone that espouses an Ideology of Division, and I refuse to accept anything but a Federal Republic. I don't give a darn what political party someone supports.

Actually, it kinda would. Since you're attempting to insinuate some specific policies of Biden's are responsible for this in the U.S., using a random picture much better explained by covid panic buying seems disingenuous.

Unless you’re fortunate to not be living in the United States during these trying economic times or unless you’re among the privileged elite who don’t shop for themselves, you’ve no doubt experienced the bare shelves for yourself. It’s senseless to try to explain that Biden’s policies are directly responsible for this debacle; the proof is self-evident.

Unfortunately, Americans are feeling first-hand what it feels like to live in Venezuela. I, for one, hate it.

Young Gene, your answer is the very definition of disingenuous, coupled with misdirection and ideology of Division, and you are doing so to "win" what you perceive is a Socialism bashing position. It is not. It is bashing a lack of support by POTUS, to place the Federal Republic above all else.
After all, since you are educated, you may recall that the first described duty of POTUS in the Constitution, is Commander in Chief.

I am informed you are a young educated professional with a big heart.

Use it on behalf of our Federal Republic, not on behalf of a Socialist Ideology of Division.
