I've actually seen a few of these as "challenge" ingredients on a few cooking shows such as Chopped and Guy's Grocery Games.
Yes, seen both canned hagis and bacon.

I've had canned escargot. Not bad.

    Different cultures have different tastes.

Meijer has canned squid. Right by the sardines and I think I'm gonna give it a try as I am fond of squid and not just as calamari. I have some whole squid in my freezer as a matter of fact.

Bought a jar of Harissa today. A new adventure for me and quite tasty.

I've also ALWAYS got KimChee and Gochujang on hand.
Probably the only kid on the block that can say that.

Glad that you enjoy Kim Chee.

Next you need to locate some Gochujang.

Tonight's menu will feature Canned Squid in ink sauce!

It was on sale for only $1.19 a can (saved a dime).

Sounds interesting as the sauce is the ink, tomato sauce and herbs. Found a recipe and will serve it over pasta.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Well,

I ate the canned squid in ink sauce last night.

Looked pretty nasty and smelled very fishy in the can.

Prepared almost as directed in the recipe and served it over fettuccini.

    Verdict.

Quite tasty actually and I'll eat it again.
