I've enjoyed my favorite spectator sports, men's college basketball and pro tennis, a lot more in recent years, ever since I came to the radical conclusion that all those involved (players, coaches, refs/umps/judges) have better views and know more about what's going on in games or matches or seasons or careers than I do. I guess I should turn in my fan-badge. -- tinmimus99@hotmail.com smeeter 11 or maybe 12 mp 10 The best piece of logic I ever heard, Mr Larynx; the very best, I assure you. < _Nightmare Abbey_

Not _quite_ as hoarse. Yes. Heh. For example, when an opposing player tries a 3-point shot in basketball, and the camera is following the ball, but I hear that whistle blow out there on the 3-point line [A], I still scream, sometimes "NOOO!", more often just a scream . . . . [A] Meaning, for those who don't follow the game, that the shooter just got what we call "fouled" by his defender-- whacked across the arm or head, most likely, in an insufficiently-gentlemanly attempt to prevent or spoil the shot, but occasionally knocked down-- and will get three what we call "free throws"-- undefended and leisurely one-point standing mid-range shots at the basket, from what we call the "free-throw line". -- tinmimus99@hotmail.com smeeter 11 or maybe 12 mp 10 mhm 29x13 _Raw Recruits_ and _Undue Process_ for all, Welcome to college basketball!
