So, billions of US tax dollars invested in "green" technology seems to have helped China, battery technology investment has shifted to Europe & Scandanavia, Chrysler is owned by the Italians and Cash-for-Clunkers benefited the Japanese. Did we get our monies worth?
Top 10 sellers from Cash-for-Clunkers: 1. Toyota Corolla 2. Honda Civic 3. Toyota Camry 4. Ford Focus FWD 5. Hyundai Elantra 6. Nissan Versa 7. Toyota Prius 8. Honda Accord 9. Honda Fit 10. Ford Escape FWD

I have to ask how many of the above named cars are made in the US, how many US jobs are protected by the Japanese companies making cars in the US and how much tax revenue does the US get from these companies. What happend to the scrap cars (Did American companies benifit from the scrapping of them?)Then I think I for one would be in a better position to answer if it was a good deal or not
De Orc has a good point, but even a cursory look at the facts here exposes the lack of anything approaching an objective point of view in this thread so far. No, I'm sure that Fox reported on this, just as did other news outlets. For instance: ABC News, Aug 4, 2009 | "Cash for Clunkers Boosts Foreign Car Sales" Oh, but that's not all: The Truth About Cars, August 7, 2009 | "Edmunds: DOT’s Cash for Clunkers Top Ten List Gets It Wrong" So, in the end, which companies' car sales actually benefited, and what percentage of the boost did they each receive from the program? Top 10 List From About.com: Toyota came out on top, but the two largest American car manufacturers were not far behind, and Chrysler was easily in the top ten.
I think I'd rather know how Romney's tax shelters in Swiss banks and the Cayman Islands help this country and if Romney is doing this stuff you can bet so are he rest of the wealthy elite in this country. Make your money in this country and hide it overseas so you can do as little as humanly possible to contribute to the people and the country that made it possible for you to achieve so much. Oh yeah, then run for president and tell your rich buddies what a bunch of lazy good for nothing's most of the people in this country really are. The saddest thing about the way I've laid this out is that nothing I have written is untrue. None of it hasn't happened. And there are still idiots that support this guy out of rabid stupidity.
Romney's "tax shelters" help this country just as much as do Obama's. And do not kid yourself. He has about the same percentage invested in those "tax shelters" as does Romney and probably a higher percentage.
Talk about flailing at windmills...Geesh! Any proof of Obama's investments or is the accusation good enough? Obama's taxes are public. How about old Mitten's taxes? Obama has no Swiss bank account, no Cayman Island accounts, he doesn't have a 100 million in an IRA....Romney does! Why does someone as dim-witted as yourself even bother even trying to make arguments you clearly can't defend?
Absolutely there is proof that Obama has investments in "tax shelters". And, no, Obama does not have (because he was not intelligent enough to earn one) a 100 million in an IRA. I used the term "percentage". Remember what your economics teacher said. (I would use the term "taught", but you have demonstrated how well you learned his lessons.)
I find it very curious that you assert something as an "absolute" yet provide precisely zero evidence in support of your assertion. Were you just rushed for time?
I asked for that too. You'd think that with Obama making his tax returns public, it would be easy to provide but alas the accusation seems to be all they need as proof. No wonder they love Fox so called news. Geesh!
