This is not just medical use it is recreational use. This should be interesting to watch. Financial boom for the 2 states possibly?

It shouldn't be interesting to watch in terms of economics but perhaps in another way: Federal law supersedes state law, and Federal law says it is illegal. What will be interesting is to see is how the Federal government responds to this legislation, or if it responds at all.

    Lots of questions.

Let's say someone gets caught with some weed that was bought from a dealer that had it shipped in from California. Is there a penalty?

Will these states start producing it as a cash crop to be sold legally only by state sanctioned sores?

Interstate economics does pose a potential problem there. It is still illegal under Federal law though, so I fail to see how the States can do anything, knowing full well that Federal law supersedes State law.

Two things. The Feds are unlikely to interfere in state law because Democrats don't care about enforcing the federal law they see as stupid and one of the biggest supporters of this Colorado law was a Colorado Republican. His logic was that trying to enforce anti-pot laws was costing too much and that the Mexican cartels were the only ones getting rich. It has been estimated that the cartels profits from the illegal drug trade are going to take a 25% hit from these two states alone.

I doubt the Fed. are simply going to let it go, mostly because if they do it will be a win for States rights, a decidedly Republican stance.

Republicans only care about state's rights when they are out of power. The state's rights mantra is just a bunch of BS.
