So take something that your party has been accurately accused of and provided plenty of evidence of and accuse the other party of being guilty of it. Nobody falls for this BS anymore. Find a new lie to push. Geeesh!

Nobody can grasp it. Polls might have to do with a lot of it.

I can see two answers to the question on the board. If I really want to look I'm sure I could see more.

    16 or eleventy billion.

Anyone who tells you we can solve the money problem just by taxing the rich is lying to you. They know it too, that is why they only talk about the savings over 10 years...it is the only way they can make the numbers seem big. Like the Bush/Obama tax cuts.."Eliminating them for the rich will save 800 billion dollars" 800 billion sounds pretty big until you think about the fact that we will spend over 30 trillion in that 10 years and have deficits totaling more than 10 trillion dollars during that 10 years.

Honestly, I don't hear anyone saying that alone will solve the problem. In fact, I hear the opposite so often I have cross-eyes as a result.

    .thanks But

Solve? Maybe not. Reduce the deficit? Oh yeah! Why is it with a problem that is going to take a multifaceted solution, the facet that you regularly disparage as inadequate isn't a good first step? Do you have a better first step? What is it and why is it a better first step? Please advise.

Then I am sure you guys can point to the other solid numbers being proposed? All I have heard concrete about is the 70 billion from the rich via the tax cts. Which is about 1/8th of the way to a meaningful plan*.

And I have made my first steps well known over and over (and over) again ever since the tax cuts were extended the last time. The most recent was just a few days ago.

*Edited to add: And since the tax the rich is the only thing I keep hearing bleated, I figure the rest are even more pissing into the wind - or phantom savings.

Then run for president. View attachment 847 "I'll vote for you."

Nope. I only paid a 5% effective tax rate last year. I'd never qualify for president.

But, nice Dodge...is it a Viper?

Then tie future tax rates across the board to spending.

All of the above gives us enough breathing room to start looking at entitlements.
