Especially if they think that politics in this country are exactly the same as they were 175 years ago and ignore everything that has happened in the interim. If all I knew about anything was learned on this forum, I'd say my original comment was accurate. As far as I know, only two people here have claimed any native heritage...and both lean wayyy right. It also so happens they are both douches, but that falls within the +/- of douchiness overall here.

For your enlightenment, human history is a rich tapestry of intertwining events leading to the present moment. Just because you choose to ignore certain events or aspects of a political party doesn't mean that it's irrelevant to the modern culture.

For the sake of our discussions, how far back in history would you like to go? Four years? The Civil Rights Movement? The Industrial Revolution? English Colonialism? The rise of primordial ooze from the oceans? Please tell me and I'll make sure not to reference any historical event beyond your limited scope of comprehension.

 

As the only person on this forum with a doctorate in History (excepting perhaps Recusant?), I can say with certainty that interpreting current events through the lens of historical happenings is a fruitless pursuit.
